How to Watch College Gym in 2022

The streaming and broadcast landscape for college gymnastics has changed a lot since we first outlined your options in 2019, so we’re back with a refreshed guide to help you get your subscription packages set before season kicks off on Jan. 5 in Tempe, Arizona.

This year, we’re highlighting the headline meets you can find on major channels, and then we’ll break down your options by conference (or team, where appropriate). Find information about cost and free trial options for streaming services at the bottom.

As always, be sure to check our master schedule for the most up-to-date information, including meet cancellations or coverage changes if applicable.

International gym fans can scroll to the bottom of the article for viewing options.

In sum: The most comprehensive streaming service, providing access to all ESPN networks, SECN and SECN+, all P12N channels, BTN, ACCN and ACCNx is the Sling Blue + Orange package with the Sports Extra add-on, at $61/mo before taxes and fees. Subscribers may want to add on ESPN+ and BTN+, which are always stand alone extras.

The Big Guns: ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU

In 2022 you can find several meets across major conferences on Disney’s major channels. ABC, of course, is over-the-air, so if you have any kind of cable package or antenna, you’re all set. ESPN is carried by fuboTV, Hulu Live TV, Sling, Vidgo, YouTube TV and DIRECTV STREAM as well as all cable providers. ESPN2 and ESPNU are almost always included in streaming packages that offer ESPN’s flagship property.

Keep in mind that in 2022, all NCAA regional competitions will be streamed for free on ESPN3.

Streaming by Conference

Most conferences have standards across their teams. We’ve noted where one team within a conference deviates from the norm.

Big Ten

You can find most Big Ten competition on BTN+, the Big Ten Network’s streaming service. Note if you had it bookmarked from previous seasons that the URL has changed in 2022 and is now www.bigtenplus.com. For at least one of CGN’s editors, the new site doesn’t meet WiFi security standards. If you have strict standards set, you may need to relax them, use cellular data or use a VPN to access BTN+.

A handful of Big Ten meets are broadcast on BTN’s main property; 2022’s schedule has more meets than in recent seasons on BTN. Keep in mind that access to BTN does not mean you have access to BTN+ and vice versa.

The Big Five meets at Elevate the Stage Toledo are often carried on BTN or FloGymnastics, though at this time they do not yet have a network or streaming platform listed.

BTN Meets

  • Michigan at Minnesota, Jan. 24, 8 p.m. ET
  • Ohio State at Nebraska, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET
  • Illinois at Michigan State, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. ET
  • Iowa at Minnesota, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. ET
  • Maryland at Penn State, Feb. 26, 1:30 p.m. ET
  • Big Ten Championships, March 19, time TBA

Big 12

The Big 12 does not have a conference-wide network or streaming option.

Denver

You can find most Denver home meets on Altitude or Altitude2, which you can access with a cable login for a provider that has those channels. Note that two Denver home meets do not yet have Altitude listed on the schedule and may appear on another network or paid streaming platform.

Iowa State

The Cyclones don’t yet have TV information on their schedule for 2022, but in 2021 home meets could be found on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, a paid streaming platform.

Oklahoma

Thanks, we think, to Oklahoma’s impeding move to the SEC, the university appears to have broken with FSOK, and most home meets will be featured on ESPN’s family of channels as listed above. The exceptions are contests versus Texas Woman’s and George Washington on Fri. Feb. 4 and Fri. Feb. 11, respectively, which do not yet have a TV provider listed yet.

West Virginia

Similarly to Iowa State, West Virginia has not listed any 2022 streaming information. Often, Mountaineer streams are typically free via the school’s streaming platform or on ESPN+.

Pac-12

Most Pac-12 meets air on the Pac-12 family of networks. There are notable exceptions airing on ESPN’s family, as listed above. P12N features one main national channel, as well as six regional channels (Arizona, Bay Area, Los Angeles, Mountain, Oregon, Washington) and a live streaming platform, which is free. is similar to BTN in that there is one main channel (P12N) and additional streaming options. 2022 meets on the main network are listed below.

P12N Meets

  • Stanford at Cal, Jan. 16 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Arizona State at Utah, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. ET
  • UCLA at Oregon State, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Arizona at Washington, Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET
  • Arizona State at Oregon State, Feb. 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET
  • Oregon State at Utah, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET
  • UCLA at Arizona State, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Arizona at Cal, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Utah at Washington, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. ET
  • Utah at Arizona, Feb. 25, 8:30 p.m. ET
  • Stanford at Oregon State, Feb. 25 at 10:30 p.m. ET
  • Washington at UCLA, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Cal at Arizona State, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. ET
  • Cal at UCLA, March 6 at 3 p.m. ET
  • UC Davis at UCLA, March 12 at 5 p.m. ET
  • Pac-12 Championships, March 19 time TBA

SEC

SEC meets are carried on the SECN family of channels. SECN is the main channel while SECN+ is conferences’ the streaming platform and is accessible to all that get SECN via cable login. Most head-to-head conference SEC meets appear on SECN, in Friday Night Heights, the standard-setting wall-to-wall Friday night programming while out-of-conference SEC home meets typically stream on SECN+.

EAGL

No EAGL team has TV access listed on their 2022 schedules to date. Historically, most EAGL meets can be found via free live streams or on ESPN+ or ESPN3. As North Carolina, N.C. State and Pittsburgh prepare to move to the ACC in 2024, we may see an increasing number of meets on ACCN or ACCNx.

LIU

LIU’s main, non-gymnastics, conference is the NEC, and LIU home meets are streamed for free on NEC Front Row.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire regularly provides excellent, free YouTube streams.

North Carolina

Keep in mind that the Tar Heels are under new leadership in Danna Durante, so streaming access may look different this year as she tries to expand excitement about the program; it seems reasonably likely that meets will increasingly be on the ACC’s family of services. However, no streaming or broadcast information is available for 2022 at this time.

GEC

The newly formed GEC has largely not yet listed streaming options, though exceptions are included below. Historically, these teams have provided streams either through free in-house options, ESPN+, ESPN3 or Facebook/YouTube.

Penn

The Quakers’ Jan. 3 contest versus Yale will be on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Tip: Set your VPN to Philadelphia to access.

Yale

Yale home meets will be streamed on ESPN3 for free.

MAC

MAC contests, including the conference championship, are often streamed on ESPN+ or free on ESPN3. In-house streams are also standard and in some cases are paid.

MIC

Since the MIC is independent, there is no central way to access streams. The schools provide streams on a variety of platforms, and the conference championship has been on ESPN+ in the past. Illinois State, Lindenwood and SEMO have not yet provided 2022 streaming information.

Centenary

Ladies’ meets can be found on CTVT.

Texas Woman’s

Texas Woman’s streams its meets for free on LSC Digital Network.

MPSF

The MPSF is home to some of the best free, in-house live streams in the game. Catch these teams on YouTube, via their school’s own streaming service or in some cases on PlutoTV (see below for details) almost every week.

MRGC

MRGC is also dominated by free streams; Boise State and Utah State use in-house streaming.

BYU

BYU’s home meets can be found freely on BYUtv, a streaming channel that can be integrated with AppleTV, Firestick or Roku. Simply make a free account, sign in and start streaming.

Southern Utah

The Thunderbirds stream meets freely on PlutoTV, also available to add to your Apple TV, Firestick or Roku setup.

NCGA

If you’re looking for WIAC or NCGA-East competition, you will most often find it via free streams produced in-house by the hosting athletic department or via Facebook live stream.

Streaming Services

Great! You know which channels you want! Now, how do you find them? The streaming landscape is vast and ever-changing, so we rounded up your options (as of mid-December, 2021) here.

DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM is not a sports-heavy service. If you’re a casual gym fan who enjoys other premium channels, it may be the option for you.

Channels:

  • ABC (locally)
  • ACCN (Choice, Ultimate, Premier)
  • BTN (Choice, Ultimate, Premier)
  • ESPNU (Choice, Ultimate, Premier)
  • SECN (Choice, Ultimate, Premier)

Cost: Choice package starts at $84.99/mo, Ultimate at $94.99/mo and Premier at $139.99/mo. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation: No free trial, cancel within 14 days and get a full refund. Cancellation may be subject to Early Termination Fees.

FuboTV

FuboTV has everything the all around gym fans need: You get access to every major conference channel plus ESPN. Note that Big Ten fans would also want a BTN+ subscription. Subscribers not in an ACCN or SECN market would need to purchase add-on options, and any subscriber in a market would need the add-on package to watch out-of-market meets.

Channels:

  • ABC
  • ESPN
  • BTN
  • ESPN2
  • ESPNU (add-on option)
  • P12N
  • P12N Regional Channels (add-on option)
  • SECN (add-on option for out-of-market)
  • ACCN (add-on option for out-of-market)

Cost: Starts at $64.99/mo or $69.99/mo for unlimited screens. Additional $7.99/mo for “Extra” add-on (includes ACCN out-of-market and ESPNU out-of-market). Additional $10.98/mo for “Sports Plus” add-on (includes ACCN out-of-market and P12N Regional Channels). Taxes and additional fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation: 7-day free trial, cancel any time.

Hulu Live TV

If you’re not interested in P12N, Hulu Live TV might be your best option. It carries every other major conference network and the ESPN suite. Note that Big Ten fans would also want a BTN+ subscription.

Channels:

  • ABC
  • ACCN
  • BTN
  • ESPN
  • ESPN2
  • ESPNU
  • SECN
  • ESPN+ (add-on)

Cost: Starting at $64.98/mo with an additional $7/mo for ESPN+. Taxes and additional fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation:  7-day free trial, cancel any time.

Sling

Sling has two subscription options: Orange and Blue. They can be combined in the Blue + Orange package. Most sports channels require the sports add-on. Keep in mind Sling doesn’t include ABC, so you’ll need an antenna to access ABC meets. Note that Big Ten fans would also want a BTN+ subscription.

Sling is messy because the channels you get with the sports add-on are different whether you’ve chosen the Orange or Blue package (Blue + Orange subscribers get access to all Sports Extra channels). SEC fans will be interested in Orange plus Sports Extra while Big Ten fans will look to Blue plus Sports Extra.

Channels:

  • ESPN (Orange, B+O)
  • ESPN2 (Orange, B+O)
  • ESPN3 (Orange, B+O)
  • ACCN (Sports Extra Orange add-on)
  • ACCNx (Sports Extra Orange add-on)
  • ESPNU (Sports Extra Orange add-on)
  • SECN (Sports Extra Orange add-on)
  • SECN+ (Sports Extra Orange add-on)
  • P12N (includes regional networks without regional restrictions, Sports Extra Orange or Sports Extra Blue add-on)
  • BTN (Sports Extra Blue add-on)

Cost:  Both Sling Blue and Sling Orange start at $35/mo. The Blue + Orange package starts at $50/mo. The Sports Extra add on is an additional $11/mo. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation: No free trial offered. Cancel any time.

YouTube Live TV

YouTube Live TV is a good option for viewers interested in the ACC and Big Ten. Note that Big Ten fans would also want a BTN+ subscription, and ACC viewers would want to look into ACCNx. YouTube Live TV does not offer P12N in any packages.

Channels:

  • ABC
  • ACCN
  • BTN
  • ESPN
  • ESPN2
  • ESPNU
  • SECN

Cost: Starts at $64.99/mo. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation: 7-day free trial. Cancel any time.

Vidgo

Vidgo is a sports-centric streaming service offering all the big-hitters. The baseline Plus package includes all the gym channels you need, though users interested in other sports programming may want to consider the Premium package.

Channels:

  • ABC
  • BTN
  • BYUTV
  • ESPN
  • ESPNU
  • ESPN2
  • P12N
  • P12N Regional Channels
  • SECN

Cost: Starts at $55/mo. Additional taxes and fees may apply.

Free Trial and Cancellation: 7-day free trial. Cancel any time.

Individual Subscriptions

BTN+: Monthly conference pass is $14.95/mo. Subscribers can also choose a school pass, with access to only one school’s content for $10/mo. No free trial, cancel any time. Note that gymnastics isn’t included in BTN+’s individual sport subscription options at this time.

ESPN+: $6.99/mo, cancel any time. Note that subscribers may already have ESPN+ through the Disney+ Bundle.

FloGymnastics: FloGym will only carry a limited number of club-hosted invitational college meets in 2022. CGN is committed to live blogging every meet carried on Flo to ensure our readers do not need to subscribe. $30/mo, cancel any time.

International Streaming Options

For our international followers, we’ve done our best to find reliable ways to watch without a VPN.

  • ESPN Player (ESPN’s suite, SECN, SECN+) is available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Note that it is no longer available in Russia or Asia.
  • P12N is available internationally via YouTube International’s live 24/7 stream.
  • It appears that the revamped BTN+ access includes what was previously available as BTN2Go International.
