Signing day is always a flurry of expected signings, new commitments and—if we’re lucky—some bombshell news. This year, the class of 2023 gave us a few surprises and many new commitments across all level of the sport. There are some likely Olympic deferrals, some early arrivals for this season and at least one expected NLI that left us questioning our scholarship math.
Caitlin Smith to Join Oklahoma Early for 2023
Five-star recruit Smith, part of the class of 2023, will join the Sooners this season. She joins Ava Siegfeldt and Faith Torrez in a star-studded freshman class.
Kennedy Duke to Join Pittsburgh In January
Four-star recruit Duke was initially part of the class of 2023 and announced she was coming to Pittsburgh early but didn’t appear on the Panthers’ roster this preseason. She will indeed join Pittsburgh this season, only in January rather than for the fall.
Zoe Miller and Konnor McClain Missing from LSU Announcements
LSU released a video featuring signees Amari Drayton and Kylie Coen, but expected signees Miller and McClain were missing. They both apparently signed NLI paperwork, so it is presumed they will be deferring to train for Paris 2024.
Sydney Razeghi Appears to Sign Unofficially
Every signing day some gymnasts not on full athletic scholarship sign non-NLI paperwork to participate in the festivities of the day, despite not officially signing. Five-star recruit Razeghi, who was expected to sign an NLI, appeared to sign unofficial paperwork featuring the Stanford logo.
New Commits at Every Level
New names who announced their commitments on signing day include some of the following gymnasts.
Hannah Milton Commits to Western Michigan
Previously uncommitted three-star Milton will join the Broncos on a full scholarship in 2023.

The first-year level 10 announced her commitment on Wednesday. She’s working some exciting vaults, including Tsuk entries and a Kaz half.

Lindsay Fuller Joins Ball State Class
The second-year level 10 announced her commitment on Instagram.
Paige Breckwoldt Commits to UW-LaCrosse
