Brockport

Brockport is adding a huge group of 14 newcomers to an already-large team of 17 returning veterans for the 2026 season. With the addition of these freshmen and all the potential they bring to the table, as well as the ability to make a full set of lineups out of just this class, Brockport should have more depth than ever to make this season as successful as the last.

2025 Rewind

No. 67 overall | No. 1 at NCGA East | No. 67 in regular season | NCGA nationals

Brockport finished its season ranked first in the NCGA-East, and came in sixth overall at the NCGA championship, but did not have its best showing of the season. The team had scored several scores above the 192 mark, with its highest being a 193.100 earlier in the season. However, its season ended there with some struggles on bars and team totals of under 47 on that event, even though it had a better regular season leading up to this.

Brookins and Kay are both returning as potential all-arounders who could top one of these records, especially if both start competing consistently across all four events. Hockman is most certainly a name to remember, as she is one of the top returners and highest scorers across her three events from the previous season. As for newcomers, Nisson could make a run for that vault record.

The Big Picture

With just the addition of the freshman class alone, Brockport should have more depth than ever. With the graduation of a handful of great seniors, replacing these numbers in the lineup, most likely by brand-new faces, is going to be the biggest obstacle to the team in securing confidence in these important spots. Returner Hockman is coming back as a top athlete on her three events, and will most likely be called on to provide that experience and leadership the team needs as it adopts a very young, but full of potential, incoming class.

Likely 2026 finish: Second in the NCGA-East

Cortland

Cortland peaked at the end of its 2025 season, posting two of its highest team scores and showing steady improvement each week. With a strong group of returners and minimal scoring losses, the Red Dragons are well-positioned for another successful campaign in 2026.

Finishing second in the NCGA-East during the regular season and fourth at the NCGA championships, Cortland had plenty to be proud of. The Red Dragons showed remarkable progress, jumping from a 186.400 in their season opener to a 192.050 just two months later in March.

Although many of these records were set just last year, several athletes have the potential to top them again. A returner like Meadows, especially on beam and floor, and newcomer Wilt, who could step into an all-around role, make another record-breaking year a strong possibility.

The Big Picture

Cortland proved last season how much progress it can make in a short time, and with the offseason and preseason to build on that momentum, the Red Dragons are poised for an even stronger 2026. Finishing fourth at the NCGA championships should give the team confidence to start fast rather than climb throughout the year. Vault and floor, in particular, could see major gains with returning veterans and the addition of newcomers like Bootman and Wilt, who have the potential to elevate Cortland’s overall success this season.

Likely 2026 finish: First in the NCGA-East

Rhode Island College

Over the past decade, RIC has been continually moving upward, raising its national ranking over 10 spots since 2016. However, with the loss of some key players at the end of last season, the challenge will be for this team to keep its upward trajectory. Its huge incoming freshman class could hold some serious talent, but time will tell whether or not the newcomers will have what it takes right off the bat.

RIC qualified to nationals for the first time in 27 years, making last season one for the record books. Knowing what it is capable of and having a blueprint for what it takes to get there should give the team a confidence boost going into 2026.

Three of the four individual records are currently held by Keyes and Tucker, two 2025 graduates. Several other records were set in the past few seasons, but the loss of Keyes and Tucker could make hitting a new team total a challenge. While there are newcomers and returning underclassmen who could hit the necessary high scores to make a run at setting a new record, it will take consistency throughout meets and within each lineup to make it happen.

The Big Picture

With the graduation of experienced athletes Keyes and Tucker, RIC has crucial lineup spots to fill and high scores to replace. Krause will be an important athlete this season and is a top returner in the all-around in her second season with the program. The loss of this senior class is a blow to this team, but adversity can prove motivational. RIC will look to its returning athletes to set a good example for the freshmen, who will be important lineup options from the start of season.

Likely 2026 finish: Fourth in the NCGA-East

Ithaca

Ithaca is looking to replace six athletes who, across all four events, had important counting scores that contributed to the team’s success last season. With these athletes missing, pulling from its depth will be crucial for the team to repeat last season’s success and attempt to make a move higher in the NCGA.

Ending third in the NCGA-East conference was a great finish for the Bombers, where they scored their second-highest team total of the year of 191.675. With its lowest event total coming from bars, an event Ithaca struggled on the most last season, it made it up with great beam and floor scores to get it within less than a point of the first-place finishers.

With no returning all-arounders from the past season, this could be the year a newcomer steps in and breaks the current all-around record if they are put into this position. Several of these records have been set in just the past five years, a great omen to the growth the team has shown individually and as a whole.

The Big Picture

Losing its senior class, especially Kaylie Goodwin, Nicole Lonski, and Caitilin Pellegrino, is going to be a hard adjustment for the team to make. Still, with the addition of Léanne Desjardins, who could be a potential all-arounder this season, and seven others this season, hopefully, they can begin to replace some of these absent scores. Ithaca has the potential to move up in the conference this season, but finding more depth, either from returning veterans who might not have yet competed or new freshmen, is crucial. Ithaca has some really standout athletes, but with the lack of at least six solid scores, it is deterring how great the team can be with having to count a lower score on pretty much every event. Making this depth a priority is not only going to give the team a cushion if there is a problem on an event, but also confidence knowing it has a plethora of athlete scores to utilize.

Likely 2026 finish: Third in the NCGA-East

Ursinus

Ursinus has been hovering in the middle of the NCGA-East, but has made notable progress within the program with the addition of some very influential players, and it hopes to continue this trend with an incoming class of six to the roster who could all play an important role this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 77 overall | No. 4 at NCGA East | No. 77 in regular season

Ursinus built over time last season, starting in the 186s, ending with less than a tenth short of a 191 at the end of 2025. Making this five-point jump shows the growth of the team as a whole, but with bars consistently being the issue throughout the season, it deterred how high the team score with having to count sub-45 event totals throughout the year.

With Roe adding in all-around this past season and now having a year of this under her belt, she should have the confidence on the events she wasn’t performing weekly before as she enters her junior year. Although Roe already holds the vault record, competing a 10.0 start value vault could get her past the 9.825 she previously scored and help her break her own record.

The Big Picture

Several graduate seniors held a few of the highest NQSs at the end of last season, so losing these scores is going to be a hard hit for the Bears. Adding Roe back into all-around for the second season, as well as newcomers like Bentman, Burton, and Watson, the team should be able to fill these spots, but it really needs more than just five good scores to give itself a cushion so it doesn’t run into the same issue it had last season.

Likely 2026 finish: Fifth in the NCGA-East

Utica has several big gets in the freshman class when it comes to athletes who could beat these records, most notably  Dorman. Dorman has previously reached perfection on beam in her level 10 career and will be looking to get close to that mark again once she makes her debut for Utica.

The Big Picture

Utica has several freshmen who could become really influential, key athletes throughout the four years they will be a part of the program. Newcomer Dorman has the potential to make a statement in her first season and help Utica rise in the conference rankings. Returners Marra and Graff are two of the top athletes coming back who will also be very critical for Utica this coming season across all four events. In just its third season of existence, Utica has not only a lot to look forward to, but a lot to be proud of moving forward into 2026.

Likely 2026 finish: Sixth in the NCGA-East

Springfield

Springfield enters the 2026 season in the final spot of the NCGA-East but showed significant growth last year, proving its potential heading into the new season. With the addition of a large class of 11 freshmen, the Pride could finally have the depth it’s been missing in recent years.

Incoming freshman Alekshun, who has the potential to compete in the all-around, could make a run at several of these records—particularly on vault, where she scored consistently well during her club career. While many of Springfield’s team records have been set within the past few seasons, the bar records have stood the longest. Finding an athlete capable of tying or breaking the mark set in 2018 would be a major accomplishment and a key boost to the team’s depth on an event that has challenged Springfield for some time.

The Big Picture

This large incoming class should be a major boost for Springfield, bringing strong club scores and much-needed depth across the board. The real test, however, will be how well these athletes’ gymnastics translates to the collegiate stage and whether they can maintain those high scores under pressure. With the loss of five seniors who filled key lineup spots, replacing LaViolette on beam and vault—where she was one of the team’s top performers—as well as Maeda on bars, will be crucial to Springfield’s success this season.
