Arkansas' Frankie Price competes on the floor exercise at the 2023 NCAA Women's Gymnastics regionals

LIVE BLOG: SEC Championship Session One

The afternoon session of the SEC championship may contain the lower seeds, but it’s far from low-stakes, as Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Auburn, and Kentucky all have something to prove. Georgia, sitting just outside the top five nationally, has both the scoring potential and resume—highlighted by a regular-season win over Alabama—to make a push past an evening-session team if it delivers a big number. Arkansas and Missouri, ranked back-to-back at No. 8 and No. 9, are locked in a tight battle that could impact both SEC placement and regionals seeding, while Auburn and Kentucky, hovering in the mid-to-late teens, are aiming to solidify their positioning and avoid any late slip that could complicate their regionals draws. With margins this tight, a hit meet here could have ripple effects well beyond this session.

You can watch the meet on the SEC Network, or find individual event streams here. Scores will be on Virtius.

Arkansas got better as the meet went on, with its highest scores on beam and floor, but will fall below Missouri in the rankings. Kentucky was particularly impressive, especially with its landings and as a result, clinches a seeded position for regionals at 16th. For Auburn, this was not the meet it was looking for, unable to recover from the beam rotation. As a result, they drop out of regional seedings.
