Arkansas head coach Jordyn Wieber announced she is stepping away from the program to spend more time with family and pursue other passions. With this change, the Razorbacks promoted assistant coach Chris Brooks to head coach, effective immediately.
Wieber led the Razorbacks for seven seasons. During her time, the Razorbacks had two national championship appearances, 30 All-American honors, and 40 All-SEC honors. Arkansas’ top 10 program scores and top scores on vault, beam, and floor were all earned under Wieber’s leadership. She was also instrumental in the team’s move to the larger Bud Walton Arena, due to a growing interest in the sport.
Brooks has coached alongside Wieber for the past seven seasons and has almost a decade of coaching experience. Prior to Arkansas, he helped lead the Nebraska women’s team to a national championship appearance. He also assisted with the Oklahoma men’s team, as they earned second place at the 2019 NCAA championships.
