Auburn University announced today that it and head coach Jeff Graba have mutually agreed to part ways after 16 seasons. This comes as Auburn was eliminated from the NCAA postseason in round two of regionals for the third time in four years and finished last place in the SEC.
Graba was initially hired in 2010 after serving five years as an assistant coach at the University of Utah. During his tenure, Graba won SEC Coach of the year in 2014 and 2015 and was named co-Coach of the Year in 2012. Auburn qualified to two national championships as a team under Graba in 2015 and 2022, where the Tigers recorded a program-record fourth place finish, and coached Derrian Gobourne and Sunisa Lee to individual national titles.
In the statement, Auburn Athletic Director John Cohen thanks Graba for his 16 seasons where he “oversaw a period of significant growth in all areas of the gymnastics program.”
Auburn’s search for a new gymnastics coach will begin immediately.
This is a developing story, we will continue to update as more information becomes available.
