I’m live in Washington, D.C., this afternoon for a triple meet featuring host George Washington, New Hampshire, and William & Mary.
George Washington’s season has been unsteady, with last week’s 194.650 marking its best—and only fully hit—performance so far. That total barely clears the team’s 2025 low, and the averages sit well below expectations for the preseason conference favorite. Bars and beam have been the primary trouble spots, with multiple counted falls across several meets. Floor, however, has been the most reliable event, currently ranking No. 44 nationally. The reigning EAGL champions bring three all-arounders in Lola Montevago, Aspen Tucker, and Deana Sheremeta, with Montevago and Tucker earning EAGL Gymnast and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively. Interestingly, GW’s strongest performances have come on the road, so the typical home advantage may not be a given. At this point in the season, a turnaround requires more than just hits—it demands sharp execution and attention to detail across all four events.
New Hampshire, meanwhile, has surged to No. 35, far exceeding preseason expectations and entering the weekend atop the EAGL standings. The Wildcats have flirted with 196 and shine brightest on floor, where McCall McMullen, Poulina Minaev, and Serena Mullin have each surpassed 9.900 at least once. Minaev and Mullin anchor the lineup as all-arounders, guiding a balanced and confident squad. New Hampshire enters as the favorite and looks poised to continue building momentum toward a strong 2026 finish.
William & Mary is still seeking rhythm after an unusually late start and a weather cancellation, making this just its third weekend of competition. The Tribe faces a quick turnaround, traveling to D.C. following a Friday quad meet. Managing fatigue will be key, especially with limited competitive reps so far. Holding a 190.675 average, William & Mary will treat this as an opportunity to gain experience and push its scoring potential upward.
Scores for this meet can be found here.
I just need to point out that every coach is wearing pink!
William & Mary is wearing a pink leo, as well as George Washington. New Hampshire dons this one.

New Hampshire swings smoothly into the lead after a solid bars rotation, with Peyton Novinger posting a 9.825 to lead the Wildcats on the event. George Washington ran a quick vault rotation with a series of Yurchenko fulls, anchored by Sheremeta’s 9.825. The Tribe evaded counting a fall on beam, but balance checks and form deductions caught up with them for lower-than-desired event total.
Rotation 2: George Washington UB, New Hampshire BB, William & Mary FX

Summers (W&M): Rudi, RO 1.5 to front layout is done well.

AFTER TWO: George Washington 97.350, New Hampshire 97.250, William & Mary 96.275
This rotation had a theme of fighting: pushing back after a fall and major efforts to stay on the apparatus. The Revs and Wildcats head into the third event tied for the lead, while the Tribe kept up a performance consistent with their best on floor. Hannah Burke’s 9.825 was a highlight for William & Mary, showcasing explosive tumbling and attention to detail. Lola Montevago’s precise 9.875 led the Revolutionaries on bars, and Madi Harvey a 9.850 for the Wildcats with a stellar beam routine.
Rotation 3: William & Mary VT, George Washington BB, New Hampshire FX
Ruedy (W&M): A clean Yurchenko layout, little hop. 9.500

Wood (W&M): Yurchenko tucked full, underrotated, big step fwd.

Kiner (GW): Good full turn, front aerial and her foot is almost off, big wobble. Repeats and does the same thing. Front toss, connects to a BHS, switch wobble, split 1/4, she’s looking unsettled, gainer pike, small step.
Minaev (UNH): RO 1.5 to front lay, some leg form. Switch to wolf full 2x, double tuck to end, good landing postions.
Parbellon (W&M): Yurchenko layout, nice chest position, step fwd.
I am compelled to mention one of the floor judges’ sparkly red heels! A professional serve.

Exh- Novinger (UNH): High and slightly cowboyed double tuck. Good leap positions, punch Rudi to double stag, soft bounce.
AFTER THREE: New Hampshire 145.600, George Washington 145.550, William & Mary 144.125
The Wildcats overtake the Revs to claim the lead, though not tracking for a season best total. George Washington suffered multiple falls and will count two missed routines on beam, not the showing the Revs wanted or needed at this point in the season. The Tribe put up several non-twisting vaults, relying on execution rather than difficulty and matching its season event high. Finishing vault way ahead of schedule, the Tribe heads to its final rotation a possibly feeling a little cold.
Rotation 4: New Hampshire VT, William & Mary UB, George Washington FX
McMullen (UNH): Yurchenko full, great form and a good landing position. 9.825
Laird (W&M): Blind change, Tkatchev to bail, double tuck and sticks the dismount to lots of cheers!

Lannon (UNH): Yurchenko 1.5, steps back. 9.750
Peebles (W&M): Blind to piked Jaeger, bail, DLO jumps forward
Tucker (GW): Punch double full uncontrolled landing with fwd momentum, RO 1.5 to front tuck, punch Rudi. 9.425
Mullin (UNH): Yurchenko full, step. 9.725
Gao (W&M): HS clear hip to Gienger, Pak, switch kip, blind but doesn’t make it over, extra swing, goes again and off to the side, comes off the bar. Up again, fall on high bar HS. I did not see if she finished the routine.
O’Rourke (GW): Front layout to a well done Rudi. Great leap extension. Tumbling pass with a forward landing, controlled lunge. 9.725
Harvey (UNH): Yurchenko full, powerful block, controlled step back. 9.675
Ngo (W&M): Judges conference after Gao’s routine. Clear hip, Gienger, to bail, blind full to a STUCK double tuck. Okayyy
Montevago (GW): HUGE double tuck, bouncy lunge. Switch half to split full. RO 1.5 to front lay, super controlled and chooses to step out.
Ockerbloom (UNH): Yurchenko full, almosts stick but takes a small step forward.
Bare (W&M): Blind, Tkatchev to bail smooth, great HS on high, blind full to double tuck, steps back.
Peters (GW): Front full to front full, close to OOB but makes the adjustment. Punch Rudi, drills the landing.
Boss (UNH): FHS pike half, very open pike position, too open and underrotated. Folded step forward.
Pabellon (W&M): Toe hand to Ray to bail, nice giants to a DLO, goes to her knees on the landing.
Sheremeta (GW): RO 1.5 to front lay with an incredibly sticky landing, switch ring to switch ring half, beaitiful, FHS Rudi is great. Oooh that was a strong finish.
Exh- Vetrano (W&M): Toe hand to Maloney, bail with a leg separation, really whips the DLO around, hops.
