Fantasy Central: Week 7

Fantasy Central: Week 7

It’s year five with Gymlytics fantasy college gymnastics in 2026! We all learned lessons when GymChem took up the helm and created her revamped game, and we’re ready for a fun new season.

Our weekly cadence will continue to match Gymlytics: The fantasy “week” begins with Friday meets, ends with any Thursday ones, and trading happens every Monday via the waiver wire. You’ll find us here every Tuesday talking about “next week,” meaning the fantasy week starting that Friday.

This is your one-stop shop for all things fantasy each week. We’ll be tracking injuries, noting byes and double headers, and giving you tips and tricks to put forward your best team possible.

Well, that was an eventful weekend of gymnastics (and non-gymnastics). After cancelling last weekend’s meet, Iowa State cancelled the rest of its season on Sunday. This edition of Fantasy Central will give you ideas for replacing its strongest athletes in your lineups.

Data Corner

Once again, we have data editor Dara joining us for Fantasy Central each week. She’ll be breaking down the numbers for you with notes on routine hit rate, lineup appearance frequency, and breakout performances to keep an eye on.

Hit Rate and Lineup Frequency: Over the last five weeks, the following gymnasts have been some of the most valuable* on their respective events.

  • Vault: Kailin Chio, Jordan Chiles, Selena Harris‑Miranda, Addison Fatta, Lauren Williams, Morgan Price, Ella Zirbes, Kaya Forbes, Nyla Aquino, Mackenzie Estep
  • Bars: Chloe LaCoursiere, Jordan Chiles, Maggie Slife, Lily Smith, Aurélie Tran, Sage Kellerman, Luciana Alvarado‑Reid, Morgan Price, Mackenzie Estep, Kayla DiCello

*Based on a 10-player league, using high scores for multi-meet weekends. Top 50 scores, including ties in each fantasy week, were included at full value, the next 50 scores were included with a slight discount, and the remaining scores were ignored when calculating values.

Breakout Performances: Gopher Isabella Nguyen scored a 9.875 for her Yurchenko one and a half in her competitive debut. Two freshmen, both bars specialists, notched their first 9.900s this weekend—Maiya Terry (up from 9.825 in the last two weeks) and Sabrina Nemcek (collegiate debut). Also earning her first 9.900 on bars was senior Madeline Komoroski, who came into the season as a beam and floor specialist but has steadily improved on the event since her debut in the season opener. On beam, Manama Fofana improved her career high by close to a tenth, posting a 9.925 (the top score of the meet) to help Penn to the second-best total on the event in program history. Callie Gardner has been improving week to week on floor. The sophomore, who did not perform on the event for Towson last season, recorded her first 9.900 for Kentucky on Friday.

Starts & Sits for Week 7

This is the spot to find your solutions for those big bye weeks and advice on how to handle injuries, lineup changes, and those surprise breakout performances.

Vault: Faith Torrez returned to Oklahoma’s vault lineup last week. It’s fair to assume Oklahoma will do what it takes to keep her healthy for the postseason, but she appears to be back in commission. Meanwhile, for the Sooners, Lily Pederson did not compete vault at either meet. Joscelyn Roberson made her vault debut in Arkansas’ first meet of the weekend but sat out Metroplex on Sunday. The Razorbacks will likely continue to pace her, but the first vault is a sign she may be good to go. Sophia Bell appears to be nursing an injury and did not vault last weekend.

Bars: Lia Kmieciak has two 9.9+ scores this season. She had a couple of misses earlier in the year but appears to have settled in. Sophie Schriever has improved in nearly every meet this season and posted her first 9.9+ on bars last week. Abbi Ryssman has struggled as of late, and Mary McDonough hasn’t been able to find herself on bars so far.

Beam: Maggie Ball is finding her groove on beam. Ava Jordan added beam this season and has impressed so far. Lily Smith has struggled on beam this season, but has also notched a 9.975; if the rest of your lineup is stable, she’s worth the risk.

Floor: Nina Ballou returned to the lineup three weeks ago and hasn’t relinquished her spot; she’s scored two 9.900s in the past three meets. Amari Drayton is starting to find herself again after struggling early in the season. MaKayla Tucker also struggled early in the season but has posted two 9.9+ scores in the last three meets.

Waiver Wire Wrap-up

Finally, we have a waiver wire in gymnastics! Who should you prioritize this week? Since Fantasy Central comes out on Tuesdays, keep in mind that these tips are catered toward next week.

Vault: Syniya Thomas may be your best Haylee Hardin replacement, given her success on vault and floor. She’s yet to break 9.900 on vault but hasn’t gone below 9.800. Mia Leverton is a vault specialist who has brought a steady 10.0 start value to Auburn’s lineup. Tara Walsh is another nice option.

Bars: Elle Hadrick has posted four straight 9.875s on bars. Kentucky’s Sabrina Nemcek made her collegiate debut on bars last week and notched a 9.900. Elizabeth Leary has exceeded 9.800 in every routine this year.

Beam: Mady Harvey has scored 9.850+ in four of five routines this season, while Madeline Komoroski has posted 9.800+ in four of five routines.

Floor: With the cancellation of Iowa State’s season, Hardin’s floor is arguably the most impactful score for fantasy managers to replace, and Noelle Adams shone here as well. Rachel Rybicki recently returned to Alabama’s floor lineup and has posted a 9.900 or higher both times she’s competed. Thomas also may still be available; she’s averaging over a 9.900 and notched a 9.975 last week. Southern Connecticut’s Abby Royer continues to make a name for herself near the top of the floor rankings but may have gone unnoticed in fantasy leagues.

Notes From the Fantasy Roundtable

Ashley Knight is still notably absent from N.C. State’s lineups. Trinity Webb was also absent from Clemson’s meet this week for unknown reasons. Ana Bărbosu was out of most Stanford lineups last week, but word from the broadcast is that she was just resting.
