Florida gymnast Selena Harris-Miranda jumps and claps in celebration after finishing her beam routine.

LIVE BLOG: No. 2 Florida at No. 7 Missouri

Happy Friday! A top-10 SEC showdown is on deck in Columbia as No. 2 Florida visits No. 7 Missouri.

Florida is riding a high after breaking the 198.000 mark last week. The Gators boast deep, consistent lineups across all four events, with nearly every routine capable of flirting with perfection. Kayla DiCello continues her impressive return following Olympic Trials and injury setbacks, while Selena Harris-Miranda and eMjae Frazier bring big skills and big scores on every event.

Missouri enters with momentum of its own after posting a season-high 197.500 at home. Junior Hannah Horton has been a standout, going 9.875 or higher on vault, bars, and floor in the Tigers’ last meet. Freshman Kimarra Echols has also emerged as a steady threat with clean, confident routines. While Missouri lacks a true all-around presence, competing in its home arena offers a major advantage—familiar equipment and a raucous crowd could help the Tigers push Florida deep into the meet.

The meet will be streamed on ESPN2, and scores can be found on Virtius.

Not a great rotation for the Florida Gators on bars, where they are ranked number one on the country. With three unusual misses, Florida has dug itself in a bit of a hole. Missouri, on the other hand, earned solid scores throughout their vault rotation, putting them in a comfortable lead after the first rotation. Florida will really want to nail some landings in the next rotation.

AFTER TWO: Missouri 98.400, Florida 97.725

Missouri had a nice bars rotation with no misses but lacked on their stuck landings. Maiya Terry highlighted this rotation for the Tigers scoring a 9.900. Florida, again, didn’t have the vault rotation they anticipated, starting with a few under rotated landings but ending strong with Daniel Ferris’s and Selena Harris-Miranda’s scores above 9.900. Missouri’s lead remains the same going into rotation three!

AFTER THREE: Missouri 147.675, Florida 147.050

Missouri did their job on beam, no major mistakes and solid landings. Addison Lawrence anchored the Tigers lineup, scoring a big 9.950. Florida was able to close the gap between them and Missouri ever so slightly, but will have to go lights-out on beam to get the win. Mizzou is heading to floor, their highest ranked event, while Florida heads to beam where they are ranked third in the country. Let’s see what these teams can do in this final rotation!

Rotation 4: Florida BB, Missouri FX

Griffin (Miz): Double pike to start, slight slide with foot. Front tuck through to double back, keeps foot planted this time. Switch feet, straddle full, straddle full, nice rotation! 9.925

DiCello (UF): Final routine for the Gators. Double wolf turn is good. Switch leap to split jump. BHS LOSO, so clean. Love her dance on beam. Front aerial, solid. BHS to side gainer full, gets some height and a stick! 9.950

Horton (Miz): Her team has set her up for a high score. HUGE double layout to start, a little wonky on the landing but covers it. Nice extension in leap/jump combo. Fun dance, everyone is doing it with her. Front tuck through to double tuck, opens up and controls the landing! 9.850

FINAL: Missouri 197.200, Florida 196.500

Although Florida had an outstanding beam rotation, capped off by a 9.95 by Kayla DiCello, Missouri went lights-out on floor with a big 49.525 event score. Tanskanen had an amazing all-around debut this for Mizzou, winning the AA title against some of Florida’s notable gymnasts. The Gators had a hard time finding their rhythm after an unusual bars rotation where they are ranked first in the country, only having hits on half of their routines in the lineup. The Tigers, on the other hand, kept themselves cool, calm, and collected the entire meet, securing the upset against the No. 2 ranked Florida Gators at the end.
