An image of a Stanford gymnast, Anna Roberts, performing on the balance beam in a crowded arena. She is captured in a graceful pose, standing on her right leg with her left heel slightly lifted, her arms extended out to her sides, and a focused smile on her face. She is wearing a black long-sleeved leotard featuring a large, sparkling red and white Stanford "S" logo on the chest. In the background, a digital "On Air" scoreboard identifies her as "A. ROBERTS" on the "BALANCE BEAM," and the stadium stands are filled with spectators.

LIVE BLOG: No. 33 Pittsburgh at No. 9 Stanford

Still searching for its first conference win, Pittsburgh faces a tall task against a top-10 Stanford squad in this ACC matchup. The Panthers do, however, carry momentum after posting a season-high 195.525 in last weekโ€™s loss to NC State. Building on that performance will be the goal as they look to secure a usable NQS score.

Stanford aims to extend its conference win streak to four. Senior Anna Roberts leads the way as one of the nationโ€™s top five all-arounders, while freshman Ana Barbosu has added significant upside with a season-high 39.450. Junior Sienna Robinson has been a model of consistency on three events, scoring 9.850 or better throughout the season and earning ACC Specialist of the Week honors after tying her career high of 9.950 on bars against California.

Pittsburgh has yet to field an all-arounder this season but has leaned on impressive depth, with 15 of its 17 gymnasts competing in 2026. Sophomore Camryn Chiu claimed event titles on bars and beam last week with career-high performances, while senior Hallie Copperwheat has been a dependable three-event contributor and shared the bars title in Raleigh. Strong outings from both will be key if the Panthers hope to push past the 195 mark again.

The meet will be live on ACCNX with commentary from Jenna Becerra and Casey Magnuson, and live scores will be available on Virtius.

Stanford is debuting its R.E.D. Tree leo tonight, while Pittsburgh will be in all black.

In lineup news, Barbosu is only slated for bars tonight. Something to keep an eye on, as she’s done the all-around in every other meet this season. Her fellow freshman Levi Jung-Ruivivar is doing all four events again tonight after her all-around debut last week. For the Panthers, junior Emily Todd is back in the beam lineup for the first time since week 1.

Rotation 1: Stanford VT, Pittsburgh UB

Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford) – FTY with a medium hop back. Good form and dynamics, a bit of pike in the air. 9.700

Duke (Pittsburgh) – Maloney to Pak with leg separation throughout. Giant full to double back is stuck. Several handstands were short in there. 9.650

Gronski (Stanford) – Sticks her FTY. Continuing her revenge tour after that miss in her debut. 9.875

Chiu (Pittsburgh) – Jaeger is caught a bit close. Shootover to handstand looks good. Giant full to double back with a medium hop forward. 9.725

Soma (Stanford) – FTY with a small hop back. Form and dynamics are on point. 9.825

Lee (Pittsburgh) – She was originally in the exhibition spot, in for Todd. Piked Jaeger with flexed feet to shootover. Giant full to double back with a small step forward. 9.700

Nguyen (Stanford) – Yurchenko 1.5 with a medium step back. Just a touch of bent legs before she lands. 9.800

Madso (Pittsburgh) – Maloney to shootover to handstand with leg separation in both elements. Toe on to toe on front pike half, fights for the landing but has to step. Does the worm to celebrate. 9.675

Roberts (Stanford) – Yurchenko 1.5 with a biiiiig hop forward. Everything else about this was great. 9.750

Pratt (Pittsburgh) – Ray looks good. Shootover to handstand. Double layout with a small hop back. 9.800

Dugan (Stanford) – In instead of Walker. Yurchenko full-on pike off with a medium hop back. Some leg separation and flexed feet in the air. 9.800

Copperwheat (Pittsburgh) – Huge Jaeger. Toe on to shootover to handstand. Full-in, she fights for it and does a college stick, tiny movement of one foot. I saw one short handstand in there. 9.725

Green (Pittsburgh) – exhibition – Van Leeuwen to a straddle back, oooh. Giant full and she peels off going into her dismount. Looked a bit scary, but she seems okay. 8.950

AFTER ONE: Stanford 49.050, Pittsburgh 48.625

Both teams will have wanted a few more tenths out of this rotation. Landing errors and missed handstands held Pittsburgh’s scores down, but it’s on pace for a 195 with strong performances in the rest of the meet. Stanford got a fabulous stick from Gronski, who turned in its highest score. Landing errors kept their 10.000 vaulters from scoring up to their potential, however.

Rotation 2: Pittsburgh VT, Stanford UB

Casey lets us know that Lee is in for Green on vault after the latter’s fall on bars.

Bobek (Pittsburgh) – Yurchenko full with a medium hop back. There was a graphic up that blocked most of our view of the details. 9.725

Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford) – Maloney to Pak salto, she does NOT separate her legs, no siree. Stalder to double back is stuck, if a bit deep. 9.950

Pileggi (Pittsburgh) – FTY is stuck. Dynamics are great, but she has leg separation on the table, and a bit off direction on the landing. 9.700

Sorrento (Stanford) – Maloney to Pak, maybe a tiiiiiny bit of leg separation. Double layout with a small hop back. 9.825

Grant (Pittsburgh) – FTY with a medium hop back. Best form of the bunch so far. 9.775

Robinson (Stanford) – High Jaeger. Pak salto is nice. Full-in is stuck with a small arm swing. 9.900

Duke (Pittsburgh) – Sticks her Yurchenko full! Form and dynamics are solid. 9.800

Roberts (Stanford) – Pak salto is pretty. A tiny bit short on handstand on the low bar. Van Leeuwen is good. Double layout is emphatically stuck. 9.900

Giunta (Pittsburgh) – FTY with a big hop back. Shows more pike in the air than the others. 9.575

Barbosu (Stanford) – Shang to Pak salto. Van Leeuwen is good. Full-in with a small hop back. Casey says Ana is resting today with thisas her only event. 9.850

Lee (Pittsburgh) – Tucked Yurchenko full with a medium hop back. 9.700

Soma (Stanford) – Maloney to Pak salto. Shows off a beautiful handstand on the low bar. Van Leeuwen. Double layout with a medium hop back. 9.825

Dugan (Stanford) – exhibition – Maloney to shootover to handstand and she’s over but pulls it back. Double layout with a big hop back. 9.725

Sagna (Stanford) – exhibition – Piked Jaeger. Shootover to handstand looks good. Good handstands in this routine. Double layout dismount with leg separation and a medium hop back. 9.750

AFTER TWO: Stanford 98.475, Pittsburgh 97.325

The Cardinal delivered on its best event. The 9.950 for Jung-Ruivivar was the highlight and a career high for her. Moving to beam, they want to erase last week’s falls and hit six for six. Two sticks on vault for the Panthers are a great momentum boost going into the third rotation. A 195 is still possible at this point, but they’ll have to be better in the back half of the meet than they were in the first two rotations.

Rotation 3: Stanford BB, Pittsburgh FX

Dean (Stanford) – Side aerial to layout stepout with no problem. Straddle jump to straddle 1/4, splits looked a bit under. 1.5 twist dismount with a medium step forward. 9.825

Giunta (Pittsburgh) – Double back with a great landing, very well controlled lunge back. Whip half to Rudi. Switch leap…full? to wolf…full? x2. Positions and rotations were pretty muddled there. 9.775

Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford) – Waiting through a judges’ conference about Dean, apparently about differing start values. She’s up and I’m immediately drooling over her toepoint. Double wolf is a touch wobbly but only minor. Front aerial is off but she keeps the arms moving to BHS. Side aerial to beat jump. Switch leap to split leap, which is gorgeous but definitely looks under split. Gainer pike is stuck. That connection mistake on the series is dangerous, but I imagine they’ll give it to her. 9.650 – one judge gave the connection and one didn’t.

Clark (Pittsburgh) – Double pike with a big step back and lifts the front foot. Switch leap 1/2 to wolf 1.5 that looked pretty solidly around. 1.5 twist to front layout with a controlled landing. 9.675

Robinson (Stanford) – Her beam song is Fantasy by Mariah Carey, I’m obsessed. BHS layout stepout is solid. Switch leap to split jump. Hitch kick to side aerial to beat jump with good rhythm. Little moonwalk action at the end. 1.5 twist dismount is STUCK. 9.875

Copperwheat (Pittsburgh) – Love her choreography at the start of this routine. 1.5 twist to front layout that doesn’t get a lot of height. Switch half to an intended wolf 1.5 that looked about a quarter short of rotation. Double back is good. 9.825

Landry (Stanford) – Double wolf turn is well controlled. BHS layout stepout with a small check. Split jump to split ring jump, small wobble on the landing. Holds and really shows off her scale. Gainer pike is stuck, and she gets some of the best distance on that skill. 9.850

Todd (Pittsburgh) – Front layout to front full with some knees. Switch leap 1/2 to a wolf something, the camera angle switched in the middle of that combo and I got very confused about which way is which, so sorry. Double back is solid. 9.850

Roberts (Stanford) – Bit off on the wolf 1.5 turn, wrenches it around and gets her foot just on the back of the beam. Switch leap to split jump, second element may have been under split. BHS layout stepout with no issues. Side aerial to split jump that definitely looked under split. BHS Gainer full is stuck. 9.775

Bell (Pittsburgh) – FHS Rudi layout stepout was nice. Switch leap half to wolf full x2, good clear landing positions. Underrotated and falls on the double tuck. Bummer, good routine otherwise. 9.125

Soma (Stanford) – Another conference on start value. Roberts was devalued to a 9.800 start by one judge too. Switch leap to split jump to layout stepout. Split jump looked under split. Side aerial to split jump, that one looked better on the split. BHS layout stepout with a leg up wobble. Gainer pike dismount is stuck. 9.775

Lee (Pittsburgh) – FHS to front double full looks underrotated by about a quarter. Loving her choreography again this year, interesting and well performed. Switch side half to straddle jump. Whip half to Rudi. 9.800

Williams (Stanford) – exhibition – Wolf turn 1.5. Front aerial to BHS is right on. Split ring jump to beat jump, maybe the best beam ring jump in college. High 1.5 twist with a big step forward. 9.700

Morgan (Stanford) – exhibition – Front layout to Rudi. Front full with pike in the air to front layout. Wolf double that lacks control at the end. Hitch kick to tour jete. 9.725

Trinidad (Stanford) – exhibition – Front aerial to beat jump. BHS layout stepout is solid. Split jump to split ring jump. Gainer pike is stuck with a bounce in place and chest a bit low. 9.800

AFTER THREE: Stanford 147.575, Pittsburgh 146.250

The goal of a 195 is still in play for Pittsburgh after nearly hitting 49 on floor. They’ll need at least a 48.75 on beam, which is less than a tenth off their season high, so it won’t be easy. Stanford bounced back with all six athletes staying on the beam. Their team score was only slightly higher than last week’s, however, when they did have to count a fall. But this performance can provide renewed confidence for them on the event going forward.

Rotation 4: Pittsburgh BB, Stanford FX

Lee (Pittsburgh) – Mixes it up with a chest stand mount. BHS layout stepout with knees and a tiny adjustment on the landing. Cat leap to switch side. She works quite fast on this event. Piked front toss with a small balance check. 1.5 twist is stuck. 9.725

Dean (Stanford) – TINSICA to Rudi. Switch leap full. 1.5 twist to front full out of just a boring old roundoff. Switch leap half to Popa. Solid routine without major deductions. 9.875

Chiu (Pittsburgh) – BHS layout stepout with a small adjustment on the landing. Front aerial is good. Split jump to split ring jump, she has good head release on that. 1.5 twist with a small hop forward. 9.775

Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford) – Double wolf turn, decent control. Roundoff whip directly to double back. Need I say it again? TOE POINT. Switch leap to split leap. Whip half to front full is landed well. Great choreography and performance from her. 9.950

Bobek (Pittsburgh) – Standing layout stepout x2, super solid. Wolf turn is good. Takes a wobble on the straddle half. Repeats it but has a bigger wobble. Does a beat jump that isn’t connected. BHS Gainer full is stuck. I wanted that whole routine to be as good as the series was. 9.175 with a 9.700 start value.

Walker (Stanford) – High double pike stuck on two feet. Switch half to wolf full x2. Split jump full. Front through to double back with a bigger step back. Front foot doesn’t come up but maybe slides a bit. 9.925

Madso (Pittsburgh) – BHS layout stepout is good. Switch leap half to Korbut is very nice and well controlled. A tiny check on her full turn. Medium step forward and lower chest on the Gainer tuck full. 9.650

Robinson (Stanford) – Double back is a bit underrotated. She tries to pull off the two foot stick but has to pick up the back foot for a small step. Double Memmel turn lacks control at the end 1.5 twist to front layout half to straddle jump with good control. Switch leap to straddle jump. Double pike is landed well. 9.850

Todd (Pittsburgh) – Switch leap to switch 1/2 with a small adjustment. Second element looked under split. BHS layout stepout with a major turn to the side wobble, bends over at the waist. Gainer full is stuck. 9.475

Nguyen (Stanford) – Double layout with leg separation, landed with a bounce up although she keeps the front foot down. Switch side half to Popa, second element is overturned. Front through to double back is landed well. 9.875

Copperwheat (Pittsburgh) – Switch leap to split jump. They’re playing We Will Rock You in the background, okay Stanford. Side somi right on. BHS layout stepout is good. Side aerial to beat jump. Gainer full with a quick heel click. 9.775

Roberts (Stanford) – Front through to high double back, she slides back and front heel pops up a bit. Switch half to Popa. Front layout to Rudi is great. 9.900

Bell (Pittsburgh) – exhibition – BHS layout stepout is solid. Piked front toss with a balance check. Switch leap to tuck jump 3/4. 1.5 twist with a medium hop forward. This will likely score higher than some of the routines in the lineup tonight. 9.600

Morgan (Pittsburgh) – exhibition – Round off BHS mount. Side aerial to BHS is very solid. Double wolf turn is a bit shaky at the end but manages with minimal deductions. The Stanford team has come over to watch and are cheering her on. Switch leap to split jump with great splits. 1.5 twist with a small hop. Another routine that they would’ve liked in the lineup tonight. 9.700

FINAL: Stanford 197.100, Pittsburgh 194.650

VT: Summer Gronski (Stanford), 9.875

UB: Levi Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford), 9.950

BB: Sienna Robinson (Stanford), 9.875

FX: Levi Jung-Ruivivar (Stanford), 9.950

AA: Anna Roberts (Stanford), 39.325

Stanford notches its third score of 197+ this season behind stellar performances from Jung-Ruivivar on bars and floor. She is developing into a very strong all-around threat, ending less than a tenth behind her teammate Roberts tonight. Vault and beam lagged behind the other events, and the Cardinal will continue to chase a complete meet. Pittsburgh’s 194.650 is a season low for them – not what they’d hoped for tonight. Despite that, they showed promise on floor, nearly breaking the 49 barrier, and there were flashes of brilliance from Copperwheat on beam and floor and Bell and Morgan in their exhibitions on beam.
