2026 EAGL Potential Lineups

George Washington

George Washington is coming off its second conference title in four years and doesn’t look to be slowing down. The Revolutionaries will be missing some big names who have graduated this past year, most notably Kendall Whitman, a mainstay in the lineups during her time competing. The team has some new faces and returning veterans it will be calling on to build on its depth, such as  Delaney DeHaan, Lola Montevago, and Deana Sheremeta, to name a few, who have had significant impacts on the program the last few seasons.

2025 Rewind

No. 42 overall | No. 1 at EAGL | No. 42 in regular season

George Washington took home the EAGL conference title this past season, but landed just outside qualifying to regionals as a team. While GWU did have a handful of individuals qualify in 2025, qualifying as a team again, last accomplished in 2019 (with 2020 being cut short), will undoubtedly be a goal this year for an extremely capable group.

Montevago broke the bar record this previous season with a near-perfect score, with several athletes close to hitting this mark of either breaking or tying a record in this coming year. The longest-standing record as a team is going on 24 years on beam, but the 2025 team came close to breaking it last season. If breaking records is a goal this year, this would definitely be one to keep in mind.

The Big Picture

2026 has the potential to be a great year for George Washington. Head coach Stephanie Stoicovy Worrell, now entering her second season, did an excellent job last year on getting the team back on top in its conference, and all signs are pointing up for what is to come. Several returning athletes have made huge strides in just a season or two and left an impact on the program, and this experience will not only give them more confidence entering the next season but translate well to the freshmen who are going into a strong program.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 40s, first in the EAGL

New Hampshire

New Hampshire is going to be looking to build on the finish it had last season and start 2026 strong. For the past few seasons, the Wildcats have been consistently sending individuals to regionals, but have not qualified as a team since 2019. Getting back to this point would be the ultimate goal, and starting off strong is the way to get that accomplished this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 51 overall | No. 3 at EAGL | No. 51 in regular season

The Wildcats got off to somewhat of a slower start last season, but found consistency in the 195s in March heading into the back half of the year. New Hampshire had a great ending to its season in 2025, finishing just two-tenths off George Washington, who took home the conference title. Dealing with some injuries throughout the season, the Wildcats had to put together a couple of different sets of lineups throughout the year. Now, after a summer break and time to heal, hopefully the team can get back to its ending point early in the season to achieve either regionals contention or a higher seeding entering conference.

The Wildcats came close to breaking both the individual and team records on floor in the previous season. Last season, rising junior Challman came just 0.025 off the top floor score of a 9.975 set in 2005, and after another year of competitive experience, she could absolutely be the one to do it this year. The other records, especially the overall team score, are going to take some more work to break this year, but as the team starts to gain momentum and settle into new lineups, anything could happen.

The Big Picture

New Hampshire is going to have to rebuild quite a bit this season, with a good amount of its consistent contributors having either graduated or transferred. There are not too many returning scores on each event; however, this opens the door for freshmen as well as other returning veterans to make a big impact as they make their way into lineups.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 50s, fourth in the EAGL

Temple

Temple is heading into the 2026 season without some of its most consistent contributors who have been lineup staples for four or five years now. However, the Owls are also bringing in eight new faces and a huge group of returning veterans who will be looking to step up to fill the holes.

2025 Rewind

No. 52 overall | No. 2 at EAGL | No. 52 in regular season

Temple hosted the EAGL championship last season and came up less than two tenths shy of winning the title for the first time since 2021. The Owls have struggled in the past with finding consistency in the lineups early in the season, which has not put them in the best position in the rankings as they fight for regionals at the end of the regular season. However, the team has the capability to be in contention for the top 36 if it can find consistency earlier on.

Every record has been so close to being broken over the past few seasons, but the two that have been the most long-standing are the overall team record and the individual all-around record. There haven’t been any consistent all-arounders for the Owls in the past couple of seasons who would be able to break the mark set by Castrence in 2021, but there are several athletes who absolutely have the potential to break one of the event highs in 2026.

The Big Picture

Temple faces major losses this season, both in numbers and impact, as several graduating athletes were multi-event contributors. Replacing those scores will be key for the Owls to return to last year’s form. In recent seasons, Temple has started slowly while working through lineup adjustments and consistency issues. Floor has long been a strength, but the team must fill gaps left by four steady contributors. Conversely, bars—historically a weaker event—showed progress late last season and now returns the most experience. Whether this year is a rebuild or a continuation of momentum will likely be determined in the first few meets.

Likely 2026 finish: Nationally in the 50s, third in the EAGL

LIU

LIU is entering its second season under new head coach Taylor Colwell, who got the Sharks to a more consistent place last season after a shaky start to 2025. It earned its second-highest score of the season at conference championships, ending 2025 on a high note. LIU will look to build on this new era under Colwell to make a name for itself in 2026.

2025 Rewind

Although LIU came in fifth at conference championships last season, that meet was its second-best score of the year, demonstrating immense growth from a few months prior. The Sharks found more consistency around the sixth meet of the season, but struggled to put together a complete meet until the end of the year.

The Sharks set some big records in the years following the launch of the program, and many of them still stand. Topping Mara Titarsolej’s perfect ten on bars and Syd Morris’ 39.550 all-around record will be a tall task. Last season’s highest scores didn’t come close to setting new program records with the exception of the individual floor record, which was almost broken by graduated senior Barrington. The Sharks will be looking to set some new records and finish higher at conference championships this season to put the program back on a positive trajectory.

The Big Picture

LIU lost only two athletes to graduation and has a promising incoming freshmen in Stippick who will look to contribute on all four events throughout the season, bringing some potential for a better outcome this year than last. Between injury struggles and coaching changes, LIU has been on a real journey these past few years. It is still looking to have the breakout season gym fans have been waiting for, and this might be the team to do it.
