Sumanasekera to Join UCLA Early, Forego World Championships

UCLA freshman Tiana Sumanasekera will join the Bruins earlier than originally planned, as she will not participate in this year’s world championships selection camp. She ended her Instagram story with “See you next year, Elite Gymnastics,” indicating she will return to competing at the elite level.

NCAA Athletes Make Nominative Rosters for World Challenge Cups

Multiple NCAA gymnasts were named to nominative rosters for FIG World Challenge Cups. Georgia senior Csenge Bácskay and Alabama freshman Derin Tanriyasükür were named to the nominative rosters for the Szombathely World Challenge Cup, to represent Hungary and Turkey, respectively.

The Paris World Challenge Cup nominative roster includes Stanford sophomore Alana Walker representing Jamaica, freshman teammate Jennifer Williams representing Sweden, Missouri sophomore Kaia Tanskanen representing Finland, and Minnesota freshman Emma Slevin representing Ireland. Williams announced this week that she partially ruptured her PCL, requiring her to be in a cast for the next three months and miss the event.

  • LSU junior Konnor McClain’s right arm was in a cast in a recent TikTok. She competed bars and beam in every meet in 2025 and added floor for the postseason.
