BREAKING: Victoria Nguyen to Transfer From Georgia to Florida

Florida announced today that Victoria Nguyen will transfer from Georgia for the 2023 season.

The rising junior competed bars and beam for the Gymdogs in 2022 and appeared in the all-around once in 2021. The Gators add Nguyen—and returning senior Leah Clapper—as well as freshmen Lori Brubach and Kayla DiCello for the 2023 season. Shilese Jones is another Gator commit who is yet to sign but may do so for next season.

Florida will be looking for replacement routines for Nya Reed, Savannah Schoenherr and Trinity Thomas—who have yet to either confirm their retirements or COVID years—making Nguyen’s addition smart for Jenny Rowland. The loss of two routines on its weakest events will be a challenge for Georgia. The Gymdogs just poached JaFree Scott, class of 2022, from the Gators.
