BREAKING: Denver’s Lynnzee Brown Announces Sixth Year

Denver’s Lynnzee Brown announced her intention to use her sixth year of eligibility in the 2023 season Thursday. Brown is coming off an abbreviated 2022 season—one she was able to take due to the COVID year rule—that saw her tear her Achilles for the second time.

Brown is considered to be one of the best gymnasts to have competed for Denver, holding career highs of 9.975 on vault, 9.950 on beam and 10.0 on bars and floor. She also has an all-around high of 39.825 and won a share of the floor national title in 2019. Brown was a Honda Award and AAI Award finalist in 2021 and has competed at the national championships either as an individual or as a team in three of the four years the championship was held during her career.

Brown joins Alexandria Ruiz, who recently announced she would be taking her fifth year, as well as Emma Brown, Victoria Fitts and Callie Schlottman as seniors in 2023. Denver’s newcomers are Mila Brusch, Cecilia Cooley, Ava Mabanta and Kiley Rorich.
