Committed Tracker
- Cal signee Miki Aderito talked to us last year about her struggle with mental blocks on bars, which could get so severe not to allow her to compete a full routine. She’s overcome them now and this month she scored a perfect 10.0 on this event.
- Pitt signee Natalia Pawlak scored a 10.0 on bars and commit Gabi Ortiz scored a 10.0 on vault.
- Alabama commit Lily Smith scored her second 10.0 of the season on bars for a stunning routine with immaculate form. So did her future teammate Chloe LaCoursiere, who already scored a 10.0 on bars last year.
Uncommitted Watcher
- Kelsey Slade, in the class of 2024, got a 10.0 on vault for her Yurchenko full. It’s her second perfect score of the year.
Meet Results
- Kyen Mayhew, in the class of 2023, won the Arizona state meet with a big 39.125, ahead of Kelsey Slade (39.100) and Miki Aderinto (38.925).
- Alabama commit Chloe LaCoursiere won the SoCal state meet with a 39.000, which included a 10.0 on bars.
- Former elite Sophie Parenti, in the class of 2024, won the NorCal state meet with a 39.025.
- UCLA signee Selena Harris won the Nevada state meet with a 38.900, which included a 9.975 on vault for her Yurchenko 1.5.
- Arkansas signee Morgan Price won the Texas state meet with a 39.025.
- Avery Neff, in the class of 2024, scored a 39.225 to win the Utah state meet.
- Alabama commit and 2022 Nastia Liukin Cup champion Jamison Sears won the Virginia State meet with a 39.075.
Elite Corner
- LSU commit Konnor McClain won the DTB Pokal Team Challenge, ahead of Italy’s Olympians Asia D’Amato and Martina Maggio. Cal signee eMjae Frazier was fourth and Florida commit Skye Blakely was sixth. Central Michigan alumna Denelle Pedrick, who competed for Canada, was ninth. McClain also won the beam title and Pedrick the vault title.
- Tokyo Olympian Luciana Alvarado of Costa Rica, who caught fans attention for competing a BLM-inspired floor routine at the Olympics, has committed to Central Michigan for the 2023 season.
- Jessica Gadirova, in the class of 2023, won the British championships ahead of Cal commit Ondine Achampong, in the class of 2022, and twin sister Jennifer Gadirova.
