Top Storylines

Thomas Returning for Fifth Year

During an interview at the Honda Cup awards show, where she ended up as a top three finalist, Florida’s Trinity Thomas announced she will return for a fifth year and compete for the Gators. Thomas helped lead Florida to a runner-up finish at the NCAA championships where she also won the all-around title.

Other Newsworthy Items

  • UCLA filled out the remainder of its coaching staff this week, promoting former volunteer coach BJ Das to the role of assistant and picking up a husband and wife coaching duo, Kyle and Autumn Grable, from the club world (JPAC).
  • Alabama also completed its coaching staff this week, hiring former Illinois men’s head coach Justin Spring as a new assistant.
  • Auburn star and Olympic champion Sunisa Lee garnered herself a pair of nominations for the year’s ESPY Awards. In the women’s categories, Lee is nominated for “Best Athlete” and “Best Olympian.”
  • Rising Sacramento State fifth-year Karissa Hoffman was honored with the prestigious NCAA 2022 Career Development Award, which recognizes student-athletes pursuing careers in athletics administration.
  • Pittsburgh commit Julie Røttum Madsø competed at the Nordic Championships on Saturday where she won the all-around title.

  • Olympic silver medalist and Bruin Jordan Chiles recently signed with Select Management Group after previously being unrepresented.

Training Updates

  • Rising LIU junior Talia Folino posted an Instagram story highlighting a front aerial to back handspring layout step out series.
  • Rising North Carolina sophomore Lali Dekanoidze, who had a season ending knee injury in February, posted a video of a roundoff back handspring on Tumbl Trak to her Instagram story marking 15 weeks post surgery.
  • Rising Oklahoma sophomore Jordan Bowers is working a Ray to pak salto combination on the uneven bars per her Instagram.
  • Rising BYU freshman Emily Wisehart posted an Instagram story of a new round off back one and a half to front layout combination.
