Oklahoma will enter the 2025 season as the No. 1 team, according to the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Coaches Poll. The Sooners garnered 1,963 points and 42 first-place votes to secure the top ranking.
The 2025 preseason rankings feature a tightly contested top tier of teams. LSU, the defending national champion, comes in at No. 2 with 1,871 points and six first-place votes. Led by head coach Jay Clark, the Tigers are aiming to build on their historic 2024 title, which marked the program’s first NCAA championship. LSU’s roster boasts a blend of seasoned veterans and rising stars, making it a formidable contender for another title run.
Oklahoma, a perennial powerhouse, has won six national titles under head coach KJ Kindler’s leadership, including its most recent championship in 2023. Expectations are high for the 2025 season as Oklahoma returns a core group of standout athletes, complemented by a highly touted freshman class.
Both teams will face strong competition from Florida, California, and Utah, who round out the top five. Each program brings its own unique strengths and has the talent to challenge for the top spot as the season unfolds.
