2026 MIC Potential Lineups

Texas Woman’s

Texas Woman’s has established itself as a dominant program in recent years. Even with the graduation of five athletes who were weekly staples in its lineups, the Pioneers should still be able to get back toward the top this season.

2025 Rewind

No. 48 overall | No. 2 at MIC | No. 48 in regular season | WCGNIC final

Finishing the season in second to Illinois State at the conference championship was mainly due to its struggles on beam, one of its most inconsistent events throughout the season. The team showed it could hit a full competition, scoring as high as a 196.600 in March and another 196+ to win the WCGNIC team final less than a month later.

Team: 196.600 | AA: 39.600 (Schyler Jones) | VT: 49.200/9.950 (Daisy Woodring) | UB: 49.325/9.950 (Kaitlyn Hoiland) | BB: 49.325/10.000 (Kim Koening) | FX: 49.375/9.950 (Sophie Hernandez)

Returning athletes Caroline Bowns and Kyleigh Ghanbari got the closest to breaking or tying a record last season, and both athletes have the potential to top this number in 2026. Another potential bright spot for Texas Woman’s is beam, its most inconsistent event last season. Despite its struggles, the program set a new record of 49.325 in 2025. In order to get back to this number with only three returning scores, the Pioneers need to utilize the returners to provide a level of stability.

The Big Picture

There are several athletes whose presence will be missed this season. With eleven regular lineup spots needing to be filled, the Pioneers are going to have a little bit of work cut out for them this season. This team has consistently been strong over the years, and though this doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon, there are a few holes that need to be filled heading into 2026. Along with strong veterans like Kyleigh Ghanbari and Sophie Hernandez returning to Denton, the team is adding strong freshmen like Autumn Mickens and Gabby Ruseva who could contribute on any of the four events.

Likely 2026 finish: Second in the MIC

SEMO

SEMO undoubtedly built to show its full potential as a team, scoring its highest team total toward the end of last season, 194.725 at the MIC championships, showing not only could it put together a full competition, but the Red Birds could do it when it counted.

2025 Rewind

No. 58 overall | No. 3 at MIC | No. 58 in regular season | WCGNIC final

Coming in third in the MIC championships and finishing less than a tenth behind Texas Woman’s with its best score of the season was the best way for the team to end its 2025 season. Bars and beam were the most inconsistent for the team throughout the year, and when the team scored its lowest, these events were usually the culprits, giving some insight into its national ranking when it most likely could have been a couple of spots higher if the team performed like that all season.

The Big Picture

SEMO’s 2026 season will hopefully pick up right where it left off in 2025. Building on this ending and utilizing its upperclassmen like Nyah Reader in her fifth season and Taylor Ingle in all-around will be crucial to making up the scores lost by three impactful graduated seniors. With the addition of freshman Genesis Bosque, who could certainly be a second all-arounder for the Red Birds and give them another four consistent scores each week, this is already looking to be a good season for SEMO.

Likely 2026 finish: Third in the MIC

Centenary

With its relatively small roster of 18, Centenary must rely on returners and stretch its depth in order to build on last season’s success.

2025 Rewind

No. 80 overall | No. 4 at MIC | No. 80 in regular season | WCGNIC semifinals

Coming in fourth at MICs should not be seen as a loss for the Centenary which made a jump of 12 points in its team total over the course of the season. It had one of its better performances at MICs and an even better meet at the Prelims for WCGNICs. Where it showed it can put together a complete competition, it really needs the higher scores to be more competitive with the other teams it faces during the post season.

No records have been set for quite some time for the program, although last season a few athletes came close to individual records. Emma Lavelle, who graduated at the end of last season, came close on both beam and floor, while current junior Olivia Williams came within two tenths of the record on floor. Senior Claire Flores is coming back as one of the top contributors on the three events she competes, vault, bars, and floor. She’s an athlete that could set new records for the team and will likely be a staple in lineups as Centenary tries to hit a new team total.

The Big Picture

The loss of weekly contributions from all-arounder Sophie Schmitz and three event specialist Emma Lavelle will be one of the hardest hits to the team this season. Centenary needs to focus on finding athletes that can put up consistent numbers and land on regular lineup orders to give itself a more consistent season with some higher scores along the way. Based on how newcomers Riley Navarro and Leila Dunlavy performed in club, they could step into roles that immediately impact the team total during their freshmen seasons. Centenary will hope they can deliver the high scores it needs to continue building upon past success.

Likely 2026 finish: Fourth in the MIC
