LIVE BLOG: Pennsylvania Regional Round Two Session Two

Semifinal two will see the reigning national champions take the floor, determined to defend their title. But with only two spots in the regional final, the battle is far from over.

LSU enters as the heavy favorite with a 99.91% chance to advance. The Tigers, the No. 1 overall seed for the first time in program history, have been unstoppable all season. If they keep sticking landings and racking up 9.9+ scores across all events, as they have for months, their ticket to the next round is all but secured.

Maryland has made it out of the play in round and put a great 196.25 to qualify into the night session. The Terps were locked in on landings, putting up its best scores of the meet on bars and floor. In order to keep pace with the other three, Maryland has to have a repeat competition with just a bit more attention to the smaller details to save some extra tenths to give them a shot of another day in competition here.

The real fight will be for the second qualifying spot. Arkansas, which missed SEC championships by the narrowest of margins, is still a top-20 team with plenty of potential. Beam has been a weak point, but a solid four-for-four performance could keep the Razorbacks in the mix.

Michigan, ranked just behind Arkansas, has the tools to shake things up. If the Wolverines have a breakout meet, they could steal the second spot and move on. With both teams evenly matched across the board, expect a down-to-the-wire showdown for that final ticket to Sunday’s regional final.

LSU and Arkansas will round out the four qualifying teams here in Pennsylvania! This was a exciting competition until the very end and each team had a great competition. Maryland showed out on all four events and really made a statement in the second session. Michigan, unfortunately this did not go the way they would’ve wanted, but a great ending to their 2025 season. Frankie Price was injured on floor came in short on her double layout; we are wishing her the best and hoping for a recovery from whatever this injury might’ve been. LSU had an excellent competition; looked strong and scored a huge 198.100 to end the night. The individuals showed up tonight! Skyelar Kerico in her all-around competition put at a huge 39.450 to end an amazing night! Going into the final on Saturday it could really be any of these four teams from the performances today. Now knowing the equiptment, the environment, it’s going to come down to 24/24 and the strengths will show.

  1. Not every sentence needs a ! comes across as really obnoxious.
I missed a lot of scores, if you do a live blog we need scores as well, lacking in that

    1. Hi Brianna, If you’d like to see all the scores, the Pennsylvania regional has them going during the meet on Road to Nationals. Our live bloggers are doing a lot of things at once and sometimes it’s not possible to add in every single score that comes up during a meet. We trust everyone to check out the live scores if they find they are interested in one that we don’t happen to cover in the live blog.

    2. Hi Brianna! I think these people are doing the best that they can! Be nice! Or do your research on how to find the scores!
