The NCAA continues to make inroads internationally, with more gymnasts opting to pursue collegiate gymnastics following, or alongside, their elite careers. That combined with the sheer number of talented American elite and club level athletes should make for even more competitive seasons in the future.

Charlotte Booth (Auburn, ‘25) has announced her retirement from elite gymnastics after rupturing her achilles during the floor final at the Cottbus World Cup.
Amalia Ghigoarță, who competed for Romania at the Olympics in Paris 2024, has committed to Michigan State on a full ride in the class of ‘26. She follows national teammates Ana Bărbosu, who announced her commitment to Stanford at the beginning of the year, and Lilia Cosman who is also committed to Michigan State and will join the Spartans this summer. Ghigoarță competed in the team and all-around finals in Paris.
Alexa D’Andrea (‘25), who had previously committed to Towson, will now join New Hampshire.

Dragon’s Torch: Flames Invitational, Arizona.
A trio of rated recruits topped the standings in Arizona this weekend. Sophie Schriever (Iowa, ‘25), who finished fourth at this year’s Nastia Liukin Cup, Ava Jackson (Ohio State, ‘25), and Oaklie Deputy (BYU, ‘26) got the top three all-around scores at the meet. The highlight was Schriever’s 10.0 on bars which helped her to a career-high all around 39.425, the top score in the country this season. Jackson’s 9.950 on bars was a personal best, as was Deputy’s 9.925.
Tim Rand Invite, Florida.
Four-star recruit Jayla Booker (Rutgers, ‘25) won the all around with a personal best 38.825, placing first on all events except vault where she took second. Sutton Strasser (Georgia, ‘26) took the vault title and second place all-around with 38.500.
2025 National Gymnastics Challenge, Georgia.
Three-star Hannah Aoki (North Carolina, ‘25) came out on top in Georgia, winning the all around with a career best 38.350. Four-star Avery Moss (Ohio State, ‘26) had a career high 9.800 on floor and took home second place in the all around. Christina Shelton (NC State, ‘26) came in third, punctuated by a huge personal best on vault of 9.850.
Northern Lights Classic, Minnesota.
Five-star Allison Cucci (Arkansas, ‘25), fresh off her fifth place finish in the Nastia Liukin cup last weekend, took home the all around title with a score of 39.200. Ayla Miller (Clemson, ‘26) placed second (38.250), closely followed by Arianna Ostrum (Minnesota, ‘25) with 38.225.
Perfection’s Swing into Spring, Missouri.
Autumn Rardin (NC State, ‘25) set personal bests in the all around, vault, and beam, scoring 38.850, 9.900, and 9.800 respectively, taking home the all around title. Gabby Van Freyen (Kentucky, ‘25) scored a career first 10.0 on beam but, following a mistake on bars, took the second highest all around senior score (37.550).
Other Notable Results
- Kathryn Cross (North Carolina, ‘26) broke 38.000 for the first time at the Corona Open, California with an all around score of 38.200. She also increased her personal best on vault by 0.250, scoring 9.800 to win the title.
- Mariah Green (uncommitted, ‘25) broke three personal bests to win the 2025 Winner’s Cup, California. She scored 38.200 all around with a 9.850 on vault and a 9.750 on floor.
- Lily Thaxton (Kentucky, ‘25) scored 9.900 on vault at the 2025 Derby Classic in Kentucky.

Class of 2025
- Kaleigh Summers who trains at Team Central (MO) has committed to UW Whitewater. She has a beam high of 9.550.
- Kaitlyn Delaney will be a college gymnast following her commitment to Springfield. She is competing in her first season of level 10 this year.
Class of 2026
- Amalia Ghigoarță, a member of the Romanian national team and all-around finalist from Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will join the Spartans following her announcement of a full ride scholarship to Michigan State. Ghigoarță is a junior European silver all around medalist and a two time competitor in the senior event.
