The Titans have been dominant in recent seasons, and 2024 was no exception with the team adding a third-straight NCGA title to its name. Despite one of its stars graduating in Emily Buffington, it will be reloading with a talented freshman class that looks to continue its recent success.

It’s hard to believe the Titans have any records left that weren’t broken in 2024, but there’s room for the 2025 team to make its mark. Look for Mia Lucero to potentially set a new record on vault in her senior season; she was only a quarter-tent haway from doing so last year. The team record on balance beam is also one that could fall after missing out by only half a tenth in 2024.
The Big Picture
Oshkosh has been a dominant force in DIII recently, and 2025 looks like it won’t be any different. The team may have a new composition after losing some regular contributors, but the goal remains the same.
UW-La Crosse
While 2024 ended with yet another NCGA team final appearance for UW-La Crosse, third place isn’t good enough for a team that’s used to winning. The good news is the Eagles lose few routines from their postseason lineups, as well as bring in a large freshman class that should slot into the holes with relative ease. Despite losing NCGA national champion Rachel Chesley, La Crosse has the talent to take home its first title since 2016.

The Eagles were very close to breaking multiple records last season, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to see it happen in 2025. Sophomore Raina Christenson was within half a tenth of matching the mark on beam, and La Crosse as a whole was within two tenths of the overall program record.
The Big Picture
La Crosse hasn’t won an NCGA title since its back-to-back feat in 2015 and 2016. With an impressive freshman class arriving, a finals appearance is the least the team can do if not strive for the top prize.
UW-Whitewater
UW-Whitewater has been one of the most successful DIII programs over the past decade or so, finishing as the runner-up at nationals while Hayden Gough added an individual national title on bars. Going into 2025, the team will be motivated to win its first NCGA title since 2018 while also grieving the sudden loss of teammate Kara Welsh this fall.

Whitewater has finished in the 70s for a few seasons now and maintained that position once again in 2024. The team earned an automatic bid to NCGAs after placing second at the WIAC championship. It closed out the season with seven All-Americans.

Winning a national championship as a freshman is a pretty big deal, but even more impressive is Gough’s top score was also only half a tenth away from matching the program record. The Warhawks set a new overall team record early in 2024, but the potential is there to push for more in 2025.
The Big Picture
The upcoming season will be bittersweet for the Warhawks, as they juggle the loss of their teammate with their athletic goals. Don’t be surprised if they turn their pain into motivation on the way to the NCGA national title. The team is capable of winning it all, but it will need to build depth and consistency on some of its weaker events to do so.
UW-Stout
UW-Stout ended 2024 by qualifying to its third NCGA championships in the last four seasons. 2025 sees the Blue Devils with a smaller yet still talented roster that looks to continue the trend.

The Blue Devils set new event records on vault, beam, and floor last season. Bars is one of the team’s weaker events but still came within two and a half tenths of setting a new record. Improving upon that will be a goal for 2025. Junior Anna Mielke has a chance to set a new individual record on vault as well, as she was half-tenth away in 2024.
The Big Picture
A smaller roster than what Stout is used to may make this season challenging in terms of depth. Despite that, if Stout can continue being a beam team and hitting when it counts, no result is out of reach.
UW-Eau Claire
Despite not qualifying a team to NCGAs, UW-Eau Claire had a very successful season with multiple broken program records and four nationals qualifiers, including WIAC Gymnast of the Year Harriet Toth. As 2025 begins, the Blugolds will strive to pick up where they left off with several freshmen poised to contribute immediately.

The Blugolds hit the elusive 190 for a new program record last season, but it wasn’t the only mark they smashed. New event records were set on vault, beam, and floor, as well as a new individual all-around record from Toth. As Toth returns for her senior season, she may continue to rewrite the history books in 2025.
The Big Picture
The Blugolds have a lot to look forward to in 2025. While they lose a few more routines than expected, they have several available options to replace those scores. Having Kelsey Donovan back for a fifth year, as well as a strong freshman class, should put the Blugolds in a position to once again qualify multiple individuals to NCGA nationals, if not the whole team.
Winona State
Winona State had an up-and-down season in terms of consistency. Event struggles continued throughout the season, particularly on bars, but the season ended positively, as Bryce Stoltz brought home the Warriors’ second individual national title in three years. Stoltz returns for her senior season, along with fellow national qualifiers Kaylee Bateman and Madysen Diskerud, to lead the Warriors in their quest to qualify to NCGAs as a team.

The Warriors finished fifth at WIACs for the second consecutive season. Floor was a highlight for the team and became its highest ranked and most consistent event.

Record-setting performances have been hard for the Warriors to come by in past seasons, but there are a couple of records that could fall this season. Jessica Miley was a tenth away from a new record on floor in 2024 while Kaylee Bateman was two-tenths away on bars. Look for these two to come close to those marks that have stood since 2016.
The Big Picture
2025 should bring improvement for the Warriors. Three national qualifiers return to the team, as well as two freshmen who are capable of competing in the all-around from the start, which should help the Warriors on their traditionally weaker bars and beam. Overall, this should be an exciting year for Winona State.
Gustavus Adolphus
Gustavus Adolphus saw lots of improvement throughout the season after a slow start. Despite the improvement, the team still struggled on bars and beam when it needed a hit. Coming into 2025, the Gusties will see a large class of newcomers, but their depth will likely be tested early on.

Gustavus dropped into the mid 80s in 2024 after finishing No. 79 in 2023. Despite not qualifying a team to NCGAs, the team sent two individual qualifiers to the championships after failing to do so the season before.

NCGA individual qualifier Maddox Lee was one tenth away from setting a new program record on beam last season and could very easily do it this year. The Gusties hit a new overall team mark in 2024 and will want to continue to build on that as the season progresses.
The Big Picture
Despite dropping in the rankings in 2024, Gustavus has a lot to look forward to in 2025. While they lost some key routines, the freshmen appear ready to replace them and ultimately help the Gusties get back on an upward trajectory. Their goal will be to qualify multiple gymnasts to NCGAs, a reasonable goal with the talent the team possesses.
Simpson
Simpson moves into the WIAC for its third season, and the team will want to be firing on all cylinders in its debut season in a new conference. The Storm retains some talented all-around gymnasts in Bella Dix and Abbie Lain and brings in a talented freshman class that it will want to have contribute immediately.

Despite finishing in the mid 80s, Simpson made improvements throughout the season and saw Emma Charles become the first athlete to represent the Storm at NCGAs. Heading into 2025, Simpson will want to continue that growth while improving consistency.

Incoming freshman Olivia Hedary had a career high of 9.775 on beam in level 10; her unique routine could make waves immediately on the score sheet or even in the record books. Simpson broke its previous team program record at home last season and has the potential to score as high as 190, which would smash the previous milestone.
The Big Picture
After two years as an independent team, Simpson faces a challenge in 2025 when it joins a strong WIAC. It will face some of the top teams in DIII, including three-time defending national champion UW-Oshkosh, and will be pushed to improve week after week. But the Storm has proved its resiliency time and time again, making 2025 a year for seeing what it is truly capable of.
Hamline
The Pipers were prepared for a rebuilding year in 2024 after losing a senior class that delivered in a huge way. While they may not have been prepared for the ups and downs they faced, they head into 2025 with an experienced roster that should help improve upon a low-scoring season, including the return of three-evented Brianna Weikel.

While going above 190 for a new program record is not entirely out of the realm of possibility, it’s more likely that individual records could fall as 2025 progresses. Brooke Reardon emerged as a solid competitor on balance beam and came close to matching the individual mark there.
The Big Picture
Despite its struggles in 2024, Hamline is ready to prove that finishing eighth at WIACs was just a fluke. The team is still young, but it has experience that can help propel it to an improved finish in 2025. The key will be to take that experience and translate it into consistent routines when it counts.
