Kara Eaker Announces Retirement From Gymnastics

Kara Eaker has announced her departure from the University of Utah and her retirement from gymnastics with an Instagram post in which she details her negative experience at the program and shared her diagnosis of severe anxiety and depression as well as PTSD, night terrors, and panic attacks.

Other Newsworthy Items

  • Former Florida standout Trinity Thomas, now a student assistant coach for the Gators, spoke in front of a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting about NIL, her experience competing before and after it came to be, and the need for a uniform policy rather than the many laws that exist now.
  • UCLA star Jordan Chiles, who is deferring the 2024 season to train for the Olympics, was named a flag-bearer for Team USA for the Pan American Games.

  • Bridgeport junior Catherine Aucoin showed an upgraded bars dismount, an impressive full-twisting double layout, onto a competition-height surface.
  • Temple freshman Maya Keller showed a front tuck through to triple full at the Owls’ open practice on Friday.
