Five-star recruit Jafree Scott, previously committed to Florida, announced on Monday that she has signed with Georgia.
“I chose UGA because the second that I arrived it felt like home. Everyone was so
sweet and kind, I could imagine and see myself here for the next four years,” she said in a caption on a post on the Gymdogs’ Instagram.
Scott, known for her outstanding technique, trained at GAGE alongside current NCAA stars like Leanne Wong and Aleah Finnegan. Still, injuries have plagued Scott and she has competed inconsistently since 2019.
She joins a freshman class that will debut in the 2023 season and that includes Madelynn Crow, Sidney Fitzgerald, Naya Howard, Nicole King, Jacquie Moran, Ariel Posen and Eryn Williams. Former Kentucky gymnast Josie Angeny will also be a newcomer to the team after transferring to Athens for her fifth year.
