While the 12 teams that advanced to the NCAA National Championships next weekend have the week off to prepare and heal up, the USA Gymnastics National Championships will take center stage. Lindenwood comes in as the two-time defending champions but won’t have an easy path to its third title in as many tries. Bridgeport holds the No. 1 seed with a season high of 195.050. However, the Lions have an identical RQS but hold a top score of 195.325 despite being the second seeded school. Texas Woman’s comes in close behind as the No. 3 seed with a season high of 196.000 and a RQS just 0.070 behind that of Bridgeport and Lindenwood’s. Cornell, Air Force, Yale, Brown, West Chester and Seattle Pacific round out the fourth through ninth seeded teams while Centenary, Penn and Southern Connecticut State will all be represented with individual competitors.
Caroline: I’m going with Bridgeport. They’ve got some awesome individuals and this has been a huge year for them, so I believe in them!
Christina: I think this is Lindenwood’s to lose. It has had another strong season and is poised to three-peat.
Elizabeth: I’ve got to go with Lindenwood picking up its third title in a row. The Lions have been pretty strong all season and seem to have the highest scoring potential.
