It was senior night for a lot of programs and home teams and away teams alike benefitted from the generous scoring. Stanford upset both UCLA and Georgia in Los Angeles. LSU annihilated Alabama and Bridget Sloan bounced back from two falls on beam the last two weeks with a perfect 10. Nina McGee also had a perfect 10 on floor as well as Ashleigh Gnat. Danusia Francis had one on beam while Brittany Rogers had one on vault. It was an exciting weekend, and you don’t want to have missed one bit! So, as always, we’ve got you covered with recaps of the top 15 teams’ meets and individual winners and full results for everyone else.

In the Sooners’ final competition at home this season, the seniors in particular had a fantastic showing to close out their careers in Norman. Keeley Kmieciak, won vault, bars and the all around, scoring a whopping 9.975 to tie her teammate McKenzie Wofford’s mark. Chayse Capps continued to dominate beam, scoring a 9.95, and senior Haley Scaman won floor with another 9.95. Arizona didn’t do bad, but it didn’t have its best meet of the season either, only scoring above 9.825 three times with all three high marks coming from Krysten Howard.

Two years ago, Sloan earned her first perfect 10 on beam at the same meet against Kentucky. Alex McMurtry competed all around for the second time in her career, scoring a 39.625, nearly matching Sloan’s 39.650. Freshman Alicia Boren had a 9.95 on vault to help the

team’s winning effort while Bridgette Caquatto had a 9.95 on floor. The Gators were forced to count a miss on beam after Kennedy Baker only scored a 9.575 and Peyton Ernst fell for the first time this season to score only a 9.3. Kentucky did well as well, scoring above a 49 on three events and nearly hitting the make on vault. The Wildcats’ top total of the day came on floor where they scored a 49.325. Sidney Dukes’ 9.9 contributed to the strong total.

While LSU was on it from the get go, the Crimson Tide was off from the start. Amanda Jetter fought for many steps to save her bar dismount while Kiana Winston fell on her release, forcing the team to count a miss. On vault, many of the gymnasts in the lineup weren’t as sharp as usual. Abby Armbrecht was too far on the board, hitting the safety mat and crunching onto the table, which resulted in her only being able to perform a back tuck. But for the Tigers, everything went right. Ashleigh Gnat scored yet another 10 on floor for her fourth on the team over two events. She also had a 9.95 on vault. Jessica Savona ended her home career with a 9.95 on floor and Randii Wyrick had a 9.9 to cap the night.

However, it wasn’t all bad for Michigan. The team had to count a fall on beam but still managed to score a 197 as a team. Lauren Marinez only scored a 8.9 on beam a week after having a career-high. Talia Chiarelli also fell for just a 9.35. Nicole Artz killed it on her four events to make up for the missed, though, scoring two 9.975s and a 9.925 for a 39.725 all around total. Olivia Karas also had a high all around with a 39.500, which included a 9.925 on floor and a 9.9 on bars. But it was really all about the Utes, who left with a win despite resting some of its key contributors. Samantha Partyka only competed on bars and beam for the second week in a row, scoring a 9.825 and 9.85 and Kailah Delaney only competed vault for a 9.875. Senior Breann hughes had a huge 9.975 on bars and Kassandra Lopez a 9.925 on the same event. Both Hughes and Tiffani Lewis had 9.9s on floor while Lopez and Baely Rowe added 9.9s on beam and Maddy Stover a 9.925. It all added up to a season-high for the Red Rocks with a 197.525 — an impressive accomplishment on the road.

Stanford, who only six percent of NCAA Gym News voters thought would win, did just that, scoring a season-high by far with a 197.400. No.

10 Georgia finished second while No. 7 UCLA lost for the first time at home since January 2014. Despite the third-place finish for the Bruins, senior Danusia Francis scored a perfect 10 on beam. The mark made up for the fall UCLA had to count on the event. Georgia’s Brittany Rogers also had a perfect 10 Saturday with one on vault for her nailed Yurchenko one and a half. It was the first perfect 10 on vault since Courtney Kupets in 2009 and the first on any event during the Danna Durante era. Stanford’s Elizabeth Price was almost rewarded two perfect 10s but had to settle with 9.975s on vault and bars.

It was a night of highs and lows for Georgia on its senior night Friday. Brandie Jay and Mary Beth Box were their normal, consistent selves while Brittany Rogers struggled, coming off a minor ankle injury suffered during last week’s competition at Alabama. Jay notched a 9.95 on vault, a 9.875 on beam and a 9.925 on floor to extend her all-around win-streak another meet. Box added a pair of 9.925s on her events while Rogers came away from her off night with a 9.925 on vault. But the big news was MJ Rott’s “perfect” 9.95 on vault for her Yurchenko full. The Tigers continued to chug along throughout the night, remaining consistent and calm to take the win and give head coach Jeff Graba his first victory in Stegeman Coliseum. Caitlin Atkinson tallied a 9.925 on beam and Kullen Hlawek had a 9.9 on floor. Abby Milliet also added a 9.95 on bars for that event win. It was close throughout, with Auburn only winning by 0.05 in the end thanks to a few mistakes from the Gymdogs. However, the Georgia team shouldn’t be too upset as it managed to hit all six beam routines for just the second time this season and put up a 197 as well. The team had a quick turn around and not too much time to dwell on the performance as they competed once again Sunday at UCLA.

Arkansas needed a huge score to push for that last spot in the night session of the SEC Championships and didn’t really get it. The team struggled on bars and had only average performances on the other three events for only a 196.200. Missouri kept it close throughout the meet but narrowly missed taking home the win by 0.150. The Tigers had a couple of standout performances Friday. Kennedi Harris had a 9.9 on floor and Morgan Porter a 9.95 n the event. Porter also had a 9.95 on beam, 9.925 on bars and 9.85 on vault for a 39.675 all around total, which surpassed Bridget Sloan’s mark this week.

With a season-high, Boise State continued to hold onto its great 2016 season, scoring a mid-196 to add to its collection of almost all 196s this year. Krystine Jacobsen notched a 9.9 on bars while Shani Remme (9.925) and Paige Urquhart (9.9) had high marks on beam. Remme also won the all around with a 39.375. Michigan state started off good but came undone on beam, having to count a fall and another sub-9.6 routine. Elena Lagoski wasn’t her normal dominant self and the Spartan’s top all arounder Lisa Burt fell on beam.

The Bears’ beam total was also its third-highest of the season with a 49.150. Zoe Draghi led the way with a 9.9 to tie her career high and then backed up the performance with a career-high-tying 9.9 on floor as well. Sofie Seilnacht’s 9.875 on bars was another career-high for Cal. Toni-Ann Williams continued to dominate, scoring a 9.8 on vault, 9.85 on bars and a 9.925 on floor. She was rested on beam. Southern Utah finished second behind the Bears, scoring just a 195.050. Stacie Webb posted the top score on vault with a 9.9 and Danielle Ramirez tied Cal’s Yuleen Sternberg on bars for No. 1 with a 9.9. Michigan State’s Elena Lagoski won floor with a 9.95 while Ramirez won the all around with a 39.375.

Through two events, the fifth-year senior already had a pair of 9.925s and topped the night off with her third perfect 10 of the year on floor. It wasn’t just McGee who killed the competition, though, although she was a major player. The whole Denver quad performed exceptionally well Friday,

making things very interesting come regionals. The Pioneers scored their second-highest mark of the season with a 196.825 and Julia Ross had 9.9s on bars and beam. Minnesota also performed well despite suffering its first loss of the season. The Gophers were forced to count a fall on bars but still managed to score a 196.175. Lindsay Mable fell on bars but had a 9.9 on vault and a near-perfect 9.975 on floor. Bailie Holst also scored a 9.9 on bars.

From the very first event, it was a close matchup between Denver and Minnesota. The fans were out in force and Minnesota was seeking revenge for Friday night’s loss. After one, Minnesota was leading, but after two and three Denver was on top. In the last rotation, the Gophers killed bars, sticking almost every dismount while Denver had a sub-par performance on vault. And in the end, Minnesota came out on top with a season-high performance of 197.225, narrowly edging the Pioneers’ 197.050. On bars, Bailie Holst notched a 9.95 where one judge awarded the routine a 10.0. Lindsay Mable followed up the routine with a 9.925. Mable also had a questionable “perfect” 9.95 on vault for her Yurchenko full. She fell off beam in the first rotation but came back strong on floor with a 9.925. Denver nailed its floor rotation as well. The lineup was led by the glorious Nina McGee who had a 9.975 after tallying a perfect 10.0 two nights prior. Nikole Addison and Claire Hammen also had 9.925s on the event. McGee won yet another all around title with a 39.650, which included two 9.875s and a 9.925 on beam. For Air Force, Kara Witgen was the top of the team, scoring a 39.050 in the all around after nailing a 9.825 on floor.

Hollie Blanske led the charge with a pair of 9.95s on vault and floor. She finished with a 39.600 in the all around. Jennie Laeng was back in the lineup for Nebraska, providing some much needed depth to a depleted squad. Laeng scored a 9.875 on beam in her return as well as a 9.9 on floor and 9.875 on vault. Catelyn Orel and Grace Williams each had 9.925s on bars, and Utah State’s Bailey McIntire and Jill Chappel had 9.9s on bars and vault, respectively.
