Fantasy Central: Postseason

Fantasy Central: Postseason

It’s year four with Gymlytics fantasy college gymnastics in 2025! We all learned lessons when GymChem took up the helm and created her revamped game, and we’re ready for a fun new season.

Our weekly cadence will continue to match Gymlytics: The fantasy “week” begins with Friday meets, ends with any Thursday ones and trading happens every Monday via the waiver wire. You’ll find us here every Tuesday talking about “next week,” meaning the fantasy week starting that Friday.

This is your one-stop-shop for all things fantasy each week. We’ll be tracking injuries, noting byes and double headers, and giving you tips and tricks to put forward your best team possible.

Phew, may your teams have benefitted from the senior night bonanza this week. After a relatively sedate season, scores got back to what we had come to consider normal this week.

Today, Fantasy Central will cover the postseason (conference champs, NCGA nationals, NCAA regionals, WCGNIC Nationals, and NCAA nationals) in one bunch. Remember that Arkansas did not qualify to SECs, so will be on bye this week, and that Oregon State does not have a conference championship to attend, but will host Fisk on Friday. Wilberforce is also on a bye for conference championships and is done for the year.

This also means this is us signing off for 2025. Thanks for trusting us to help guide your fantasy play for yet another season! See you right back here in January.

Data Corner

Once again, we have data editor Dara joining us for Fantasy Central each week. She’ll be breaking down the numbers for you with notes on routine hit rate, lineup appearance frequency, and breakout performances to keep an eye on.

Hit Rate and Lineup Frequency: Over the last 10 fantasy weeks (extending into last season), the following gymnasts have been some of the most valuable* on their respective events:

  • Vault: Kailin Chio, Leanne Wong, Jordan Bowers, Faith Torrez, Nikki Smith, Makenzie Wilson, Lilly Hudson, Sara Hubbard, Isabella Magnelli, Natalie Martin
  • Bars: Mara Titarsolej, Selena Harris-Miranda, Jordan Bowers, Audrey Davis, Faith Torrez, Emma Spence, Leanne Wong, Sage Kellerman, Kailin Chio, Jordyn Lyden
  • Beam: Isabella Magnelli, Joscelyn Roberson, Jordan Bowers, Emily Lee, Helen Hu, Kailin Chio, Leanne Wong, Mya Lauzon, Kara Eaker, Ja’Free Scott
  • Floor: Mya Lauzon, Brooklyn Moors, Faith Torrez, Jordan Bowers, Mya Hooten, Selena Harris-Miranda, Haleigh Bryant, Lilly Hudson, Leanne Wong, Nyla Aquino

*Based on a 10-player league, using high scores for multi-meet weekends. Top 50 scores including ties in each fantasy week were included at full value, the next 50 scores were included with a slight discount, and the remaining scores were ignored when calculating values.

Breakout Performances: Penn’s Skyelar Kerico notched a program record 9.925 on her Yurchenko one and a half, improving on her previous career high by 0.075 in the process. Sophomore Sienna Robinson made her season debut on bars, posting a 9.850 on Friday and a 9.900 on Sunday—an improvement over last season, where all three of her scores were in the low 9.8s. Fifth-year Julia Melchert scored a 9.925 on floor to win the event title on senior night in her first collegiate routine in over two years.

Starts & Sits for the Postseason

This is the spot to find your solutions for those big bye weeks and advice on how to handle injuries, lineup changes, and those surprise breakout performances.

Vault: Freshman Zoe Johnson competed vault for the first time for the Utes, nabbing a 9.850 for her Yurchenko one and a half; she competed in Camie Winger‘s spot. It seems like they’ll be the two options fighting for the sixth routine moving into the postseason.

Bars: Alyona Shchennikova was slated in the exhibition spot on bars for LSU; this seemed more like a final bow for the senior rather than an indication she’ll compete in the postseason, though.

Beam: Florida put up Skye Blakely in a beam exhibition. The injury-plagued Gators could certainly benefit from an added event from the younger Blakely. Gabby Ladanyi now has back-to-back 9.925s on beam after re-joining this lineup after a few weeks off. She seems like the likely option to get the start for the Crimson Tide at SECs.

Floor: Jordan Chiles’ mother Gina posted that her daughter’s off day was largely due to a fall off a scooter and a sore tailbone. Expect her to be back to full strength soon. Nicole King popped back into this lineup for the GymDogs for the first time since late January; she put up a 9.900. That’s a strong vote for her remaining on floor moving into the postseason, but Georgia has proven it’s not afraid to play with lineups—so take that with a grain of salt.

Waiver Wire Wrap-up

Vault: Elly King has been back on vault for two weeks for North Carolina; she put up a 9.825 this week. If you need to fill out a spot on vault, she’s a reasonable pickup.

Bars: Eastern Michigan’s Kyrie Lowe has been a steady bar worker all year, and she put up a 9.900 last week.

Beam: Rutgers is quietly having an excellent second half of the season, exemplified by Rachael Riley’s recent beam performances.

Floor: Gopher Sophie Swartzmiller has competed floor the past two weeks, for a 9.875 and a 9.900. Texas Woman’s Kyleigh Ghanbari has had a great floor season, with a 9.925 last week; she’d be a solid addition.
