Haley Mustari

Recruits to Watch in the Class of 2025

The class of 2025 is a very strong group of recruits, with many college stars in the making. And while we have our set of 13 phenomenal five-stars for this ratings cycle, there were many more not far behind. The following gymnasts have something special, and with a bit more time and polishing, we can see them making the jump not only to five-stars, but to dominating in college.

Haley Mustari

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Mustari’s bars are, in a word, flawless. No, really. She’s the presumptive successor to incoming Alabama freshman Chloe LaCoursiere’s level 10 Bars Queen crown, with five scores of 9.900 or better in 2023. Though not as consistent on beam, Mustari is excellent when she hits, evidenced by her 9.925 season high and second-place finish at nationals. Vault has been the one real weakness in her all-around game up to this point, but even that event showed marked improvement as the season progressed.

Blakely Roten

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Roten is a consummate all-arounder, consistently scoring in the mid-38s. Unlike a lot of recruits, she doesn’t have a standout event: She competes risky, difficult skills on all four. Unfortunately, she sat out the 2023 season but has looked strong in recent training videos. Never one to play it safe, she’s even training an upgraded series on her most fickle event, beam.

Jazlynn Chism

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Chism rightly garners attention for her exceptional bars work (all the more impressive for competing without grips), but she’s coming into her own as an all-arounder: She finished third at 2023 nationals thanks to a pair of first-place performances on bars and beam and a tie for sixth on vault.

Hayli Westerlind

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Westerlind’s beam has long been at the top of the class, but improvements on bars and floor have elevated her to an official all-around threat. After finishing 28th in 2022, she snagged fifth place in the all-around at this year’s national championships.

Avalon Campbell

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Campbell’s form on both bars and beam is absolutely beautiful. Her presence on beam is stellar for someone just barely of recruiting age, so she has the potential to be a force when she gets to college. Her floor scores do tend to be lower than her other events, but she still shows great potential even in her weakest area.

Baylie Belman

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Belman is consistently exceptional on both beam and floor. Her excellent floor routine has a sky-high piked full-in and hasn’t scored below a 9.650 this season. Belman also started to really hit her stride on beam toward the end of this year. She placed fourth on beam at DP nationals and tied for first on floor.

Quincy Walters

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Walters received a perfect score from our raters on floor, which is pretty rare. It’s no question that her dynamic tumbling will set her apart from other recruits, but we’re waiting to see her bring her other events to that same level. If Walters could add difficulty to her vault and bars, her rating could make a big jump next year.

Sydney Seabrooks

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch: Seabrooks had to deal with a few injuries this year, but you wouldn’t be able to tell based on how she performed at DP nationals. Her breakout performance earned her sixth place on bars and her first score over 38 in level 10. If she continues on this trajectory, she could make a big leap in next year’s ratings.

Bailey Stroud

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why she’s one to watch:

Stroud’s bars are some of the best in the class, garnering a near-perfect 24 points. While she missed the majority of this season, she competed a difficult set that exceeds level 10 requirements. Beyond the difficulty, her skills are executed with pristine form. With more consistency and scores under her belt on vault and beam, she could make a leap next year. Regardless, her bars will make any team happy.

  1. You also have Celeste field, placing first on vault at DP nationals with a yurchenko 1.5! Scored a 9.975 on that vault at an earlier season meet as well!
