Minnesota Staff Sweeps 2026 WCGA Coach of the Year Honors

The Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced its 2026 Coach of the Year honorees, recognizing top coaching performances across collegiate gymnastics, the organization said this week.

The annual awards, determined by a vote of WCGA membership, honor both head and assistant coaches for their impact on student-athletes and program success. Eligible head coaches include those in good standing who are members of the association, while assistant coach candidates must be nominated by their program’s head coach.

“The passion, commitment, and drive these coaches bring to their craft have not only developed
champions, but lifted up everyone around them,” said Casey Jo MacPherson, Chair of the WCGA Board of Directors. “This recognition celebrates the impact they’ve made on their student-athletes, the standard of excellence they continue to elevate, and the lasting legacy they are creating.”

Minnesota’s Jenny Hansen was named WCGA Head Coach of the Year, and the WCGA Assistant Coaches of the Year awards went to Minnesota staff members Sam Scherwinski, Kiki Parenteau, and Mya Hooten.
