After an exciting first semifinal this afternoon, semifinal two will round out the field for Saturday and crown the individual national champions! This second round will see reigning national champion Oklahoma, as well as UCLA, Minnesota, and Arkansas.
The Oklahoma Sooners are looking to advance to Saturday’s final and earn their eighth national title in program history. Coming into this session ranked No. 1, the Sooners are definitely a favorite to move on, having scored the highest team total out of the regional finals and surpassing 198 eight times so far this season. UCLA is the other favorite to advance, but coming off a narrow win of just a tenth over Minnesota, which will also be competing for a spot here, needs an excellent performance to ensure it moves forward.
Arkansas beat out both Missouri and Ohio State to advance to Fort Worth and had two of its best performances of the season in Lexington. The Razorbacks did not qualify as a team last season to the elite eight round but are coming in stronger than last season and are ready to put up a fight and get to the final.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are an underdog team coming into these championships but put up a huge performance in the regional final to secure their spot. Coming in just a tenth behind UCLA and outperforming two other top teams in Alabama and Utah at the Corvallis regional, Minnesota showed its fight for every tenth and put up one of its top team scores of the season.
Semifinal two will also see individual competitors:
Vault: Maggie Slife – Air Force (R1), Gwen Fink – UNC (R2), Shyla Bhatia – Denver (R3), Avery Neff – Utah (R4)
Bars: Neff – Utah (R1), Slife – Air Force (R2), Hannah Horton – Missouri (R3), Aurelie Tran – Iowa (R4)

First rotation takeaways … the Sooners came to COMPETE. With all five counting scores over a 9.9375, the Sooners put up a massive 49.750 to start off the night. Minnesota sits in second after a great beam rotation, looking strong and confident and being able to adjust after a mistake in the lineup. Arkansas also had an early mistake with a 9.05 in the lead off but bounced back well with two 9.9+ scores to put it in third. The Bruins were a little shaky on bars and having to hunt a score in the 9.7s after an extremely uncharacteristic fall from Chiles in the anchor spot, the Bruins are in fourth, but not by much and need to close this gap.

After 2: Oklahoma 99.2250, Minnesota 98.825, UCLA 98.750, Arkansas 98.675
This is CLOSE! Although Oklahoma is in the lead, its not by too much. With the other three teams all within two tenths of one another, this is going to be a fight until the end for those top two spots. The Bruins came back stronger after being in fourth and have pulled past the Razorbacks for third, but still have some work to do; luckily, floor is next and it can make up some major ground here. Minnesota is locked in and performed big on floor and needs to just keep up this momentum to make its nationals dreams a reality.
