Nine teams arrived in Tempe this week with national title aspirations, but by the end of this session, only two will remain in contention. The four teams competing here have already secured top-16 finishes, but breaking into the top eight—and advancing to Fort Worth—will require their best performances of the season, as only the top two move on. This meet will also decide the individual qualifiers heading to Texas in two weeks to compete for NCAA titles.
Also, see where things stand in the individual qualification race based on which of today’s regional final teams ultimately advance to Fort Worth.
The meet will be streamed on ESPN+, live scores can be found on Virtius.

AFTER ONE: Georgia 49.525, Florida 49.375, Michigan State 49.375, California 49.025
Georgia came out of the first rotation swinging. Literally. The strong routines in that rotation put the Bulldogs in a commanding lead after one. Florida and Michigan State end the rotation tied. The Spartans are really going to want to create a lead on vault with bars and beam as its last two rotations. Florida wants to have its own solid bars rotation following that Georgia rotation to be in the top two at the halfway point.

AFTER TWO: Florida 98.950, Georgia 98.775, Michigan State 98.700, California 98.450
Florida followed up Georgia’s 49.5+ bars rotation with one of its own. Georgia had a few wobbles that I feel like could have been deducted more, but the Bulldogs came out pretty unscathed and still with a lead over Michigan State. The Spartans wanted more from that vault rotation. Tucker stuck a vault in warmups and that would have been a much welcomed score. California is a bit behind the rest of the teams, but the Golden Bears do end on bars and are in position to upset if the teams ahead of California faulter.

Brown (CAL): Turned a little early on the table for her Yfull but stuck the landing. 9.85

Silvers (CAL): Blocked off the side of the table so was crooked and hopped forward on the Y1.5. 9.8

AFTER THREE: Florida 148.500, Georgia 148.325, Michigan State 148.075, California 147.600
Georgia is the third ranked floor team in the country and it showed in that rotation. With vault being a strong event for the Bulldogs, Georgia is in good position to move on. Michigan State and Florida had the rotations one might have expected with the Gators sticking less landings than normal. California is likely out of it, but will be looking to end the season strong on bars.
Rotation 4: Geogia vault, California bars, Michigan State beam, Florida floor
Scott (UGA): Small scooch and lean forward on her Yfull. Not the most distance. 9.85

FINAL: Florida 198.050, Georgia 197.750, Michigan State 197.000, California 196.975
Michigan State collapsed on beam, an event that has been its nemisis this season. Having to change the lineup with Cosman’s injury didn’t help. California finished with a strong bars rotation which is a good note to end on. Georgia and Florida were able to cruise to top two finishes and will be going to Fort Worth in two weeks to compete for a national title.
Below are the individual qualifiers out of this regionals.
VT: Sage Kellerman
