Judge's Inquiry How 2026 Nastia Liukin Cup Competitors Might Score in College

Judge’s Inquiry: How Class of 2026 Nastia Liukin Cup Competitors Might Score in College

Last weekend, the nation’s top level 10 athletes competed in the Nastia Liukin Cup, featuring top gymnasts in the class of 2026 and beyond. To get an idea of how they might fare on some of the nation’s top teams once they enter college, I re-evaluated each class of 2026 recruit on one event, applying deductions as NCAA judges typically do.

For each athlete, I outlined how their routine could best transition from excelling in level 10 to succeeding in NCAA and rescored it using NCAA start values, bonus, and deductions. For the most part, vault and bars compositions remained similar. Beam and floor, however, often require increased difficulty in the NCAA due to differences in composition and bonus structure.

It’s also important to note that many of these routines begin from a 10.1 start value in level 10, creating a built-in tenth of inflation for difficulty. For a true comparison between the Nastia Cup score and my evaluation, subtract one-tenth from any routine that started from a 10.1.

Jordan Johnson (Michigan State)

Start Value: 10.1 level 10, 10.0 NCAA

Jada Kim (Georgia)
