Stanford and UCLA share a long history as former Pac-12 rivals and in-state competitors. While UCLA has carried the higher national profile—setting attendance records at home and on the road in recent seasons—the Bruins and the Cardinal have had strikingly similar campaigns in 2026. Both teams have been consistent all season and remain undefeated in conference competition, with UCLA leading the Big Ten and Stanford atop the ACC.
Each squad features a bona fide star capable of scoring a 10.0 on any event—Jordan Chiles for UCLA and Anna Roberts for Stanford—and both are supported by freshmen with international elite experience. The teams have also followed similar scoring trajectories, each surpassing 198 only once this season, a mark now dropped from NQS calculations. With the teams so closely matched, every tenth could matter.
UCLA enters after winning last week’s Big Four meet and clinching the Big Ten regular-season title for the second straight year, though its 196.950 was the Bruins’ lowest score of the season. Floor, typically a strength, has been UCLA’s lowest-ranked event this year; cleaner tumbling and more controlled landings could push the team back into the 197 range.
Stanford is coming off a 198.150 at Oregon State, just the second 198 in program history. Roberts earned a perfect 10.0 for her Yurchenko one-and-a-half and set a program all-around record with a 39.875, while Ui Soma added a 9.950 for her Yurchenko full. Freshman standout and Olympic medalist Ana Bărbosu may be rested ahead of the postseason.
The meet will be streamed on ACCNX, and scores can be found here.
Notes: Pre-meet lineups have Ana Bărbosu competing on three events, so it looks like Stanford decided to try to win the meet rather than rest the gymnast.
Katelyn Rosen gets the day off for UCLA; her Yurchenko 1.5 and steady presence on the other events will be missing from the lineups.
Ashlee Sullivan is slated to compete the all-around for the second time in her collegiate career.
According to the livestream, today’s crowd sets another attendance record — 6,834 sellout.
Rotation 1: Stanford VT, UCLA UB
Jung-Ruivivar (Stan) Yurchenko full with leg separation on preflight, some pike down a step back. 9.750
Alipio (UCLA) She’s done a great job adding bars in her senior season. Toe HS, Maloney with leg separation before the catch, to bail to vertical HS. Off line on her pirouette on high, stuck toe on front tuck half. 9.800
Dugan (Stan) Yurchenko full on back pike off with leg separation on the pike and a step back. Full on looked all the way around. 9.775
Webster-Longin (UCLA) Maloney with large leg separation, good HS on low and and high. Sticks full out dismount. 9.900
Gronski (Stan) Stuck Yurchenko full! Good tight legs together in the air with flat hips. Excellent. 9.900
Matthews (UCLA) Beautiful HS on high to Pak to van Leeuwen, stuck double layout. Great form, great routine! 9.950
Soma (Stan) Yurchenko full with a hop straight up in the air as if the ground surprised her. Legs were stiff and didn’t absorb the landing. 9.800
Barros (UCLA) Short HS on high, Pak with legs together, another short HS on low, gets the van Leeuwen with no problem. Sticks the landing, but her legs are staggered. 9.825
Roberts (Stan) Yurchenko 1.5 with an underrotation and a large step back. Her hips were way behind her feet. 9.800
Sullivan (UCLA) Toe HS on high to big Ray is well done, bail goes right to HS pike in giants and double layout dismount, but it’s stuck, just like all her teammates. 9.900
Nguyen (Stan) Yurchenko 1.5, also has an underrotation and takes a step back. Not as high as Roberts’ but similar deductions. 9.750
Chiles (UCLA) Perfect HS on high, piked Tkatchev, floaty Pak, double layout dismount tuck with legs slightly apart. Great leg form. Perfect 10.0!
Anyimi (UCLA) Exhibition – not shown, but she scored 9.900.
AFTER ONE: Stanford 49.025, UCLA 49.575
Stanford had a few sizable mistakes in the vault rotation, whereas UCLA had none on bars. Jordan Chiles collected another 10.0, her sixth of the season. UCLA counted one score of 9.825, the remainder in the 9.9-range. Stanford is better on bars than on vault (as is UCLA), so the Cardinal will likely make up some ground in rotation 2.
Rotation 2: UCLA VT, Stanford UB
Sumanasekera (UCLA) Yurchenko full with a small hop, good straight body position in the air and chest up landing. 9.825
Jung-Ruivivar (Stan) Good HS on low, Maloney to Pak shows good form, double tuck with a low squat on landing but keeps her feet from moving. 9.925
Anyimi (UCLA) Yurchenko full with good distance. Flares her arms, chest is low and does an arm circle to keep her balance. 9.800
Sorrento (Stan) She also has good form on toe HS and Maloney, Pak is a bit flat and has a shoulder angle on catch, double layout with a step backward. 9.825
Webster-Longin (UCLA) Yurchenko 1.5, also underrotates and steps back. No one’s nailed that vault yet today. 9.775
Robinson (Stan) Blind half to straddle Jaeger with a bit of foot flex, tiny amount of pike on HS on high, giants into stuck full twisting double tuck dismount. 9.900
Jenkins (UCLA) Yurchenko 1.5. Her weight is balanced on right leg on landing, but she might be credited with a stick. Best landing on this vault today. 9.900
Roberts (Stan) Pak with legs together, great leg form in van Leeuwen and handstands, stuck double layout dismount. Stanford getting the sticks the past two routines. 9.975, ties her career high.
Sullivan (UCLA) Yurchenko 1.5. She overrotates, which is better than doing the opposite. Great height and a big bound forward. 9.800
Bărbosu (Stan) Clear hip to piked Tkatchev, van Leeuwen with legs together, full twisting double tuck dismount with a step to the side, showing that she didn’t complete the rotation in time for a clean landing. 9.875
Chiles (UCLA) Lopez – RO half on, layout half off. Great distance, heels come up on landing, but it might be counted as a college stick. 9.925
Soma (Stan) She’s gotten at 10.0 on this event in the past, so this routine should be a treat. Shows good vertical position on HS and pauses, showing control. Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen, double layout dismount with a stick. Not much to deduct on that routine. 9.925
AFTER TWO: Stanford 98.625 (49.600 bars), UCLA 98.825 (49.250 vault)
We thought UCLA had a great bars rotation, but Stanford outscores the Bruins by a smidge. UCLA scored its usual on vault, two tenths higher than Stanford, thanks to better landings on Yurchenko 1.5s. Stanford picked up two tenths in rotation 2 to keep the meet close, and Cardinal will need to keep up the momentum in rotation 3. Beam is a good event for Stanford, but as we know, nerves can get the best of anyone. UCLA is looking for clean tumbling on floor, and both teams want keep scores in the mid-49s to reach the upper-197 mark overall today.
Rotation 3: Stanford BB, UCLA FX
Dean (Stan) Full turn and she kicks her leg out to horizontal to finish the skill. Aerial LOSO, slight balance check in her upper body. Straddle quarter lands solidly. RO back 1.5 with a stick. Good job in the leadoff position. 9.875
Alipio (UCLA) Ciena also added floor this season. Sticks her double pike! Switch ring, unable to tell if back leg is in the proper position from the camera angle. Wolf double turn encounters a bit of difficulty as she lifts her hips. Back 1.5 to front layout also stuck. Another good leadoff routine. 9.825
Landry (Stan) Here comes a wolf turn–double with a leg drop below the beam and slow rotation. BHS LOSO is right on line. Split jump to ring jump–wobbles on landing. Needle scale with oversplit gets a cheer from the crowd. Gainer back pike with a stick. 9.875
Webster-Longin (UCLA) FHS front double full is high and gets the perfect amount of rotation for a good landing. Back 1.5 to front layout is also well-executed. She’s dancing to Boogie Wonderland now. High Rudi and pique turns to finish a great routine. 9.925
Robinson (Stan) BHS LOSO with a slight shoulder drop. Full extension in switch leap to split jump. Side aerial to beat jump, probably fast enough for connection value. Moonwalk gets a big reaction from the audience. RO back 1.5 dismount is stuck. 9.900
Barros (UCLA) Back 1.5 to front layout is performed well. Split full has good amplitude. Front tuck to double tuck with a hop backward and out of bounds. She does a salsa dance inspired routine. Too bad about OOB because everything else was good. 9.750
Williams (Stan) Double wolf turn with no problems and no body position deductions. Front aerial, needs to repeat for connection value. She wobbles again into back handspring. Sheep jump into beat jump. She puts in a switch leap to split jump to make sure she gets dance combination value. RO back 1.5 with a hop forward and a disappointed look on her face. 9.575
Sumanasekera (UCLA) Double layout has some arch in the first flip and pike in the second, but a controlled landing. Switch ring gets her back foot to head height. She travels off axis in her wolf full. Back 1.5 to front layout with high hips in the second skill. Very good routine with dance elements referring to her Sri Lankan heritage. 9.925
Roberts (Stan) Wolf 1.5 turns quickly and almost rises out of it. Gets through switch leap to split jump with no problems. BHS LOSO is perfectly aligned and she moves out of it into her choreography quickly. Balance check on side aerial. Repeats to connect it to split jump. BHS to gainer layout full off the side is stuck. The past two routines probably lost ground to UCLA. 9.850
Sullivan (UCLA) She also opens with a double layout that looks really good. Good amplitude and split on Popa. Front tuck to double tuck with leg separation, and she overrotates a bit–the only noticeable deduction. Brittany Spears music. Judges conference, so someone found more deductions than I found. 9.900
Bărbosu (Stan) Front tuck to Korbut is connected without pause. Switch leap to beat jump is solid. Full turn goes to 1.25 rotation, end up facing the side of the beam. RO double full with a small hop in place. Her heels lifted on the dismount, but her teammates still give her the stick stick. 9.900
Chiles (UCLA) Double layout was almost stuck on her toes, but then she stepped forward, so no 10.0 today. Really good control landing her leap series with a wolf full. Does her signature dive roll. Front tuck to double tuck and gets the landing on this tumbling pass. She never just goes through the motions on her dance, and today is not exception to her ’90s music mix routine. 9.900
AFTER THREE: Stanford 148.025 (49.400), UCLA 148.300 (49.475)
Both teams had impressive performances and scored well in rotation 3. Stanford was able to drop the 9.575 from Jennifer Williams, but even so, UCLA’s lead increased slightly. The Bruins can wrap up a win if they avoid major mishaps on beam. A 10.0 on the event has eluded Jordan Chiles, so all eyes will be on beam routine to see if she can earn a gym slam before the end of her collegiate career.
Rotation 4: UCLA BB, Stanford FX
Sullivan (UCLA) Candle mount. Switch leap to beat jump. She drops a shoulder on that. Front aerial–breaks at the waist. Repeats to Onodi with an arm wave wobble. BHS 1.5 to a stuck landing. 9.725
Jung-Ruivivar (Stan) Double wolf turn with a small leg deviation that will probably be overlooked. Whip to double tuck with a stuck landing. Whip half to front full lands solidly. She has lovely toe point and sassy choreography. I think the song is Bla Bla Bla Cha Cha Cha. 9.900
Barros (UCLA) Switch leap to straddle quarter. Her upper body leans back, but she avoids an arm wave wobble. Aerial BHS isn’t perfect, but again she minimizes the deduction. BHS to gainer full with a stick. 9.875
Walker (Stan) Double pike that she’s able to open up before landing. Great job on that. Switch half to two wolf fulls. She doesn’t get full compression on that so her legs are below horizontal. Front tuck to double tuck and she slides back on landing. 9.875
Webster-Longin (UCLA) Press handstand mount is old school and beautiful. Full turn is solid. BHS BHS LOSO with an arm circle to keep her balance. Aerial stands right up upon landing. RO back 1.5 with a step forward. UCLA is giving up a few tenths on every routine. They’re opening the door for Stanford. 9.825
Robinson (Stan) Solid double tuck to open. Falls out of her Memmel turn. Back 1.5 to barani to strddle jump. Sienna is showing her great performance quality, including entertaining facial expressions. Double pike bounces back. 9.800
Sumanasekera (UCLA) Switch leap to split jump is solidly performed. BHS LOSO is perfectly aligned with the beam. Front aerial to split jump and she smiles at her good landing. Full turn continues her consistent work. BHS to back tucked 1.5 with a stuck landing. The best UCLA beam routine so far. 9.950
Nguyen (Stan) High double layout, and like Chiles, she also lands on her toes then steps forward. Front tuck to high double tuck. It’s high and has so much power that she stumbles back out of bounds. 9.525
Chiles (UCLA) BHS LOSO, cat leap to straddle quarter, full turn, everything going according to plan so far. Side aerial with small upper body correction, so there goes the 10.0. RO double full is high but has a small hop. 9.875
Roberts (Stan) Ront tuck to double tuck, perhaps a small foot slide on landing. She gets her legs above horizontal on the Popa. Front layout to Rudi with the second salto rising as it should. Great routine with very little to deduct. 9.925
Alipio (UCLA) BHS BHS LOSO. Her chest is a little forward, but she throws her arms down fast to correct. Side aerial and leap combination are solid. Gainer tucked back full off the end of the beam is stuck. She’s a little off to the side on the dismount. 9.950
Bărbosu (Stan) She begins with stark and dramatic choreography. Whip to stuck double tuck. Wolf full in isolation. She mimes stabbing herself. Back 2.5 to front pike with a step forward. She really pays attention to the details in her dance, making this routine a cut above all the others. 9.900
FINAL: Stanford 197.425, UCLA 197.775
VT: Chiles (UCLA) 9.925
UB: Chiles (UCLA) 10.000
BB: Alipio (UCLA) and Sumanasekera (UCLA) 9.950
FX: Roberts (Stan), Webster-Longin (UCLA), Sumanasekera (UCLA) 9.925
AA: Chiles (UCLA) 39.700
We had a close meet, as predicted, but UCLA prevailed. The Bruins scored a season-high on bars and kept up the lead from that point on. The fans who came out to see Jordan Chiles weren’t disappointed, as she scored a 10.0 on bars, and also won vault and all-around. Stanford wanted to show that last week’s 198.150 wasn’t a fluke, but they didn’t get the big score at home today due to too many landing errors. Anna Roberts earned a share of first place on floor, but that was the only individual win the Cardinal could muster today.
