Oklahoma gymnasts huddle together

LIVE BLOG: No. 5 Georgia at No. 2 Oklahoma

Happy Friday! This afternoon, I’m live from my couch, inside and away from this impending winter storm. Due to the storm, this meet between the Sooners and GymDogs was moved up from 7 p.m. to ensure it could be completed and that fans and Georgia could get home safely afterwards.

The meet will be streamed on SECN at 3 p.m. ET, and scores can be found on Virtius.

Moll (UGA): Yurchenko 1.5, almost gets the stick. 9.85

Pederson (OU): Huge Ray to start. Solid Pak but loses her position on the half pirouette and hits her feet on the floor. Finishes strong with an almost stuck dismount. 9.725

Williams (UGA): Yurchenko 1.5, takes a fairly large step forward. 9.85

Murphy (OU): Pretty Maloney to Pak. Another uncharacteristic half pirouette error for the Sooners. Fights for the stick on the dismount, steps forward. 9.80

Aquino (UGA): Huge Tsuk full, she has the prettiest flare out. 9.90

Fatta (OU): Solid Church to Pak. Pretty double layout, stuck cold. 9.925

Despite some rocky patches on bars, Oklahoma continues to hold the lead as it ties its season-high. Off to everyone’s favorite events we go!

Rotation 3: Oklahoma BB, Georgia FX

Fatta (OU): Bhs loso, solid despite being a little crooked on takeoff. Pretty hitch kick to switch side. Solid full turn. Switch leap to split leap, nice extension to 180. Side gainer full, stuck. 9.95

E. Williams (UGA): Another last-minute lineup change for Georgia. Stuck double pike to open. Great amplitude on her leaps. Fhs to front full, slightly crooked but solid. Sticks her double back as well! 9.875

Murphy (OU): Bhs loso, great control. Beautiful front aerial. Love her open arm full turn. Great shape in her beat to ring jump. Side gainer full, stuck. 9.95

Wahl (UGA): Tucked full-in, huge lunge out and slides her foot back a little. Great control on second pass. Nice full turn and dances right out of it. Switch full to wolf full, great amplitude. 9.85

Pederson (OU): Solid bhs loso. Side somi, looked a little off on takeoff, but covers it up well. Nice extension in her leaps. Ro back double full, steps backwards. 9.85

C. Williams (UGA): Huge double layout to open. Beautiful switch half to Popa. Front through to double back, great height and control. I’m obsessed with this routine every time I watch it. 9.95

Mueller (OU): Looks like a lineup change for OU this time. Pretty bhs loso. Small balance check on her side somi. Nice straddle 1/4. Small step on her dismount. 9.825

Aquino (UGA): Another huge double layout for UGA. Front through to double back, nicely controlled. Love seeing her teammates doing her routine alongside her. Switch half to wolf full, solid. 9.90

Torrez (OU): Great amplitude in wolf jump combo. Side aerial to loso, pretty and nice control. This flight series is so cool! Beautiful lines throughout. Side gainer full, stuck. 9.975

Smith (UGA): Fhs double full to front tuck, absolutely stunning. Switch side to Popa, pretty. Fhs to Rudi right into a straddle jump, great control. I have no notes…that was beautiful. 9.95

AFTER THREE: Oklahoma 148.775, Georgia 148.250

Every single routine was stunning in its own way. I’m obsessed with both teams tonight. In other news, Georgia’s Holly Snyder was taken out of the bars and floor lineups. No news yet on why, hoping she’s okay, and it’s just something minor.

Rotation 4: Georgia BB, Oklahoma FX

Tomlin (UGA): Pretty switch leap to straddle jump, the tinest balance check. A little off on her triple series and comes off the beam. Ro back 1.5, hops forward. 8.90

Pederson (OU): Great control on her first pass. Rudi step-out to double full, I love the creativity on this! Finishes out with a solid leap pass, great extension. 9.925

Wahl (UGA): Appears Snyder has been taken out of beam as well. Wahl takes her place. Solid triple series. Great extension on her jumps, drops her chest a little after the split 3/4. Nice full turn. Sticks the dismount. 9.75

Murphy (OU): Drills her first pass into the floor and doesn’t move. Beautiful Rudi to front layout, great control. Nice lines and extension in her switch full. 9.925

Woolford (UGA): Bhs loso, hides the balance check well. Great rise on her leap series. Solid full turn. Sticks the dismount. Another solid routine to get Georgia back on track. 9.85

Pawlak (OU): Pretty double pike to open. Great extension on her switch half to wolf full. Rudi to front full, looks like she missed her punch a little going into the full as the twist was a little low to the ground. Solid routine overall, though. 9.95

Smith (UGA): Front aerial to bhs, beautiful. Gorgeous lines on her cat leap series. Solid piked front toss. Drops her shoulder a little in between her front aerial and split jump. Side gainer full, stuck. 9.625

Mueller (OU): Great control on her opening pass. Front layout to Rudi, lands the twist a little short of complete. Tour jete half to split full, pretty lines and extension. 9.925

Scott (UGA): Solid full turn. Bhs loso, great control. Front aerial to split jump to bhs, love this acro combo. Great amplitude and extension on her leaps. Rudi dismount, small hop backwards. 9.80

Estep (OU): Front layout to front double full, love love love the height she gets on this. Solid leap pass and dances right out of it. Looked a little under-twisted on her last pass, but it was pretty in the air. 9.925

Turner (UGA): A smidge off on her triple series, but digs her toes in and saves it. Beautiful lines on her dance and leaps. Sticks the dismount and finishes the Bulldogs off strong. 9.60

Fatta (OU): Great amplitude on her opening pass. The home crowd loves this anchor routine. Doesn’t quite get the double twist all the way around and lands a little short. 9.925
