2026 Maryland Potential Lineups

Maryland will be a whole new team in 2025, with twelve athletes from last year’s roster no longer in College Park and eleven new ones joining. The lineup holes are significant, but with some veteran transfers joining a strong freshman class, the Terps should be able to put together a successful season.

2025 Rewind

No. 22 overall | No. 12 at Big Ten | No. 31 in regular season | Regionals round two

Maryland hovered around the bubble in 2025, showing flashes of potential but struggling to find lineup stability. A strong finish at regionals capped an inconsistent year—one that set the stage for significant roster turnover and a fresh start heading into 2026.

Apparatus Deep Dive

Vault

2025 Event Ranking: No. 26 | NQS: 49.035 | Average: 48.933 | High: 49.250

Event Overview: Maryland tends to be a team that although it depends on the Yurchenko full, it excels at it. That will continue to be the case in 2026 with some great fulls coming in from transfers, though Mendez-Abolnik has been showing her Yurchenko one and a half in training.

Bars

2025 Event Ranking: No. 25 | NQS: 49.185 | Average: 49.029 | High: 49.325

Event Overview: Only one bars routine from 2025 returns. Luckily, this event is a strength for many freshmen and there are some useful routines elsewhere on the roster that haven’t yet made college lineups. Still, expect some growing pains here as the Terps build a whole event essentially from scratch.

Beam

2025 Event Ranking: No. 38 | NQS: 48.990 | Average: 48.727 | High: 49.325

Event Overview: Maryland can be a slightly nervy beam team, but there are enough routines here to at least hold steady heading into 2026. Fifth-year Josephine Kogler didn’t compete in 2025 but has a career-high 9.925 on the event and could factor in if healthy.

Floor

2025 Event Ranking: No. 31 | NQS: 49.175 | Average: 49.083 | High: 49.350

Event Overview: Transfer Aine Reade leads all returners in floor scores and could become a signature routine for the 2026 Terrapins. Apart from her, there are enough strong returners and talented freshmen that this event should be comfortable.

Contenders: Megan Bingham, Lauren Brendlinger, Olivia Lang, Taylor Rech, Charlotte Ritchey, Sarah Saville

With the right landings in front of the right judges, that vault team total could be attainable.

The Big Picture

Maryland has a lot of work to do to rebuild after losing about two-thirds of its routines since last year, but there’s at least as much talent coming in. It’ll be really fascinating to watch this team establish its new identity.
