Uncommitted Recruits to Watch in the Class of 2026

Signing day is right around the corner! While that inevitably brings excitement on its own, it also brings some added attention to strong recruits who remain uncommitted. Unsurprisingly, many of the top recruits are international, which also often adds an extra degree of surprise.

Victoriane Charron

  • CGN Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Club: Club Gym-Richelieu (Canada)
  • Recruit Profile

With her club teammate Virginie Therrien recently committing to Michigan for this class, focus now converges on Charron, who was a 2023 junior worlds competitor for Canada. She has competed a Tkatchev on bars, and her training videos include upgrades (such as a piked Jaeger) and look cleaner. She is gorgeous on beam as well and could contribute on all events.

Leona Gentien

Another Canadian and 2025 national all-around champion in the open division, Gentien recently started getting quite a lot of attention from colleges. She has visited Clemson and Rutgers, and we’ll have to see if she adds any more. She has fantastic extension and is training a Jaeger on bars and a difficult layout stepout mount on beam.

Erika Guindel Sánchez

Spanish gymnast Guindel Sánchez has exceptional engagement with teams’ social media, and when paired with her having changed classes from 2025 to 2026, this evident enthusiasm makes it easy to hope she finds her college home soon. Gymnastically, she trains difficult skills including a double tuck dismount off beam, and on bars, she has competed a Jaeger and a van Leeuwen.

Jayla Hoeck

Hoeck recently visited Pittsburgh and NIU, but other possible visits remain unknown. She competed a Yurchenko one and a half for the first time at nationals this year, and while her landing was low, this could be a very strong asset for many teams if it gets cleaned up. Her best event is beam, where she was regional runner-up with a massive 9.725.

Laynie Lee

Another Florida gymnast, Lee trains at Brandy Johnson’s, a gym that has produced several recent top college recruits. Her best event is floor where she scored in the 9.7s on multiple occasions last year and is currently training a full-in. With no known visits, her potential commitment brings an extra layer of mystery.

Abigail Martin

  • CGN Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Club: South Devon (England)
  • Recruit Profile

British Olympian Martin has had a fantastic recent elite season, and it is no wonder she is the highest-rated uncommitted recruit in this class. At the recent world championships, she won a bronze medal on floor, a tremendous feat. She would be a fantastic asset for any school with her extensive international experience and powerful skills.

Taylor Maye

Maye has unfortunately faced recent struggles with injury, but is known for her exceptional Yurchenko one-and-a-half on vault that won her the national title in 2024. Recently, she visited New Hampshire. Clubmate Julianne Huff has found success at Auburn, so it is possible Maye opts to stay in-state as well. Regardless of where she chooses, many teams would be thrilled to have her vault in their arsenal.

Dayana Nataren

After being sidelined with injury for the 2025 season, Nataren looks to make a strong comeback in 2026. Having only visited Utah State over a year ago, her college options are also unknown, but her tremendous career high of 9.95 on floor speaks to her potential. She is also a strong beam worker and would likely seek to primarily contribute on those events.

Emma Orr

  • CGN Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Club: Calgary Gym Centre (Canada)
  • Recruit Profile

A clubmate of Gentien’s who joined her on the Clemson visit, Orr is also another gymnast coming back from injury. She has great extension and presence on beam, though could also be a strong contributor to bars and floor lineups. On bars, she is training a Jaeger that could be a wow factor for teams that value single-bar releases.

Raquel Simmons

Unquestionably, Simmons’s standout event is vault where her 10.0 start value Omelianchik has scored as high as 9.975 in level 10. Yet another gymnast who unfortunately missed the 2025 season due to injury, Simmons visited Rutgers over a year ago, but she has not posted any other visits since. If she’s able to have a successful recovery, she would certainly be a hidden gem for whoever picks her up.
