NCAA Recruits at the World Championships

The world championships in Jakarta saw a number of recruits and commits in action in the qualification rounds.

  • Dulcy Caylor (Florida, ’26) was the sole American to qualify for more than one final; she qualified in sixth on beam and snuck into floor in eighth. These were in addition to qualifying as the top American in the all-around, as she qualified in fifth, ahead of teammate and fellow Gator Leanne Wong in ninth.
  • Canadian five-star recruits Lia-Monica Fontaine (’27) and Gabrielle Black (Utah, ’26) placed 38th and 44th respectively in the all-around, with Fontaine qualifying in third to the vault final.
  • Four-star French recruit Ming Gherardi van Eijken (’27) competed on vault and floor, finishing in 15th on the latter.
  • Judy Gohar (Illinois, ’26), a four-star Egyptian recruit who competes internationally under the surname Abdalla, placed 56th in the all-around in qualification.
  • Haylee Garcia (’26) placed 63rd in the all-around competing for the Philippines.
