Coaching & Staff News

Teague Promoted to Northern Illinois Head Coach

Acting Northern Illinois head coach Dawnita Teague was promoted to head coach of the program. Teague, an alumnus of the gymnastics program, has been part of the coaching staff since 2007. 

McClure Named California Assistant Coach

Former Air Force assistant coach Brittany McClure joined the California coaching staff in the same capacity.

Scherwinski Named Minnesota Assistant Coach

Nebraska assistant coach Sam Scherwinski was named to the same position at Minnesota. He previously coached at Lindenwood and La Crosse.

 

Training Updates

New Skills Spotted
  • California junior Kyen Mayhew is training a piked full-in on floor.
  • Oklahoma sophomore Addison Fatta is training a front full through to two and a half twisting combination pass on floor. Classmate Elizabeth Blessey is training a back handspring to side gainer full dismount on beam, and freshman teammate Kamila Pawlak is training a side aerial to one foot to switch leap.
  • Florida freshman Amelia Disidore is training a front pike half vault.
  • Boise State freshman Sydnie Whipple is training an aerial round off to split three quarter jump on beam. Sophomore teammate Noelle Ball is training a giant full to full-twisting double tuck dismount on bars.  
  • Illinois freshman Ava Banks is training multiple new twisting passes on floor.
  • Bowling Green freshman Natasha Lopez is training a switch leap to switch leap to gainer pike dismount on beam.

  • Florida’s Riley McCusker will take a fifth year
