Fisk to Discontinue Gymnastics Program in 2026

After three years in existence, Fisk announced it will discontinue its gymnastics program after the 2026 season. In an email, the university cited challenges with aligning the program to its athletics structure, noting gymnastics is not a sanctioned sport within the HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC), making scheduling and recruiting increasingly difficult.

NCAA Revenue Sharing Settlement Approved

Judge Claudia Wilken entered an order approving the $2.8 billion House settlement that will usher in the era of universities directly paying athletes. The settlement will go into effect on July 1 of this year. Schools opting in will need to enforce all of its terms, from roster limits to operating a revenue-sharing model that will pay athletes, as well as most NIL deals needing approval by a clearinghouse.

  • Maryland’s Maggie Murphy transferred to Pennsylvania with three years of eligibility remaining.
  • Missouri’s Kylie Minard transferred to Texas Woman’s with two years of eligibility remaining.
  • Pittsburgh’s Kaylee Larson transferred to San Jose State with two years of eligibility remaining.

Estrella and Wise Join Iowa State staff

Former New Hampshire assistant coach and Temple gymnast Jazmyn Estrella and veteran club coach Mary Wise joined the Iowa State coaching staff.

Ringer Named Illinois State Head Coach

Ball State assistant coach Cassandra Ringer was hired as head coach of Illinois State, replacing Bob Conkling after his retirement. Prior to her stint at Ball State, Ringer served as a graduate assistant coach and choreographer for the Redbirds during the 2017-2018 season.

  • Rising UCLA junior Katelyn Rosen is training a front aerial to onodi to back handspring layout step out to sissone to side aerial series on beam. 
  • Incoming Brockport freshman Estelle Leboeuf is training a blind fill double tuck dismount on bars. Classmate Alyssa Strain is training a double Arabian dismount on bars.  
  • Rising Florida sophomore Skye Blakely is training a Higgins to piked Jaeger combination on bars.
  • Rising Florida sophomore Taylor Clark is training a full-in on floor.
  • Incoming Iowa freshman Stella DePaola is training a full-twisting Maloney on bars. 

Rehab Progress

Rising Georgia junior Jaydah Battle was seen training on vault after tearing her Achilles prior to the 2025 season.

Oklahoma Attends NBA Finals

Several Oklahoma gymnasts and recent alumni appeared on the court for Game 1 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City in support of the hometown Oklahoma City Thunder. Assistant coach Ashley Kerr is married to the Thunder’s head coach, Mark Daigneault.
