It’s officially conference championship weekend, and teams across the country will be battling not just to win a conference title but to qualify for regionals in the best possible position for postseason success. We shared in the Bubble Watch earlier this week all the scores and scenarios to keep an eye on this weekend, but here we will be updating you live (and doing the math) to share who’s in, who’s out, what scores are needed, and where everyone is ranked.

Friday
Tonight we are kicking off the weekend with the MIC championship, session one of the Big Ten championship, and a dual meet between Oregon State and Fisk.
Start of MIC
[5:05 – MIC] The MIC championship is about to start! Illinois State is the only team in the MIC with a chance to qualify for regionals. They currently sit in 42nd and need a 195.825 to have a chance at making regionals.
[5:45 – MIC] Illinois State’s 48.725 on beam is around its season average, but it will need to raise the scores to keep qualification hopes alive. Floor is Illinois State’s strongest event, so expect them to make up some of that ground in rotation two.
Start of Big Ten Session One
[6:00 – Big Ten] The first session of the Big 10 Championship is about to start with Nebraska, Ohio State, Washington, and Rutgers. Nebraska and Ohio State have secured their spots at regionals, both avoiding the play-in rounds, while Washington and Rutgers are both currently on the bubble hoping to qualify. Rutgers can solidify its spot in the postseason before any of the action tomorrow with a 196.15 tonight.
[6:15 – MIC] A 49.125 on floor puts Illinois State on pace for a 195.7. Not quite what it needs for regionals yet, but it is closing the gap.
[6:25 – Big Ten] Washington and Rutgers both start off strong in rotation one with scores that put them on pace to stay alive in the regionals race.
[6:40 – MIC] Illinois State keeps its postseason dreams alive going into the final rotation! The Redbirds need a 48.9 on bars to reach their target score, which is above their season average but certainly doable.
[6:55 – Big Ten] Washington and Rutgers continue to stay on pace for the scores they need for regionals after two rotations! Neither can lock in a spot with their current pace, but will stay in the running.
End of MIC
[7:20 – MIC] Illinois State’s 196.025 moves it up to No. 36 in the live standings! Its qualification fate will be in the hands of the other bubble teams from here on out.
[7:25 – Big Ten] Keep an eye on Rutgers in this final rotation. A 49.0 will secure the Scarlet Knights a place at regionals.
End of Big Ten Session One
[7:40 – Big Ten] With Gabby Dildy’s beam 9.85, Rutgers has officially qualified for regionals for the first time since 2014!
With Rutgers locking in its spot, our bubble watch gets much smaller. Washington, Illinois State, Central Michigan, Iowa State, George Washington, Kent State, and Pittsburgh have all been eliminated from regionals contention.
Still alive are Ball State, UC Davis, Towson, and West Virginia, with two spots left to grab tomorrow.
Start of Fisk at Oregon State
[10:00 – Fisk at Oregon State] Oregon State is kicking off its meet against Fisk. The Beavers will be looking for at least a 197.525 to have a chance at finishing in the top 10 going into regionals.
[10:25 – Fisk at Oregon State] OSU’s 49.025 on vault is well below the number it needed to be on pace for the 197.525 to move into the top 10 of the live rankings.
[12:00 – Fisk at Oregon State] OSU’s 49.600 on floor made this closer than it was looking, but its 197.375 leaves it outside the top 10.

We’re back with a full day of conference championship action! Check back throughout the day to see how the rankings shake out.
Start of Big Ten Session Two
[12:00 – Big Ten] Session two is about to begin with Iowa, Illinois, Penn State, and Maryland. All four have locked in a spot at regionals already, but are all at risk of being part of the play-in rounds depending on their scores this afternoon. A 196.325 for Penn State and a 196.05 for Iowa would guarantee both teams a spot in the top 28.
[12:30 – Big Ten] After one rotation, all four teams are on track for solid 196+ scores that would improve their respective NQS.
[1:00 – Big Ten] Keep an eye on Illinois who is currently on track for a huge season high of 196.95.
[1:30 – Big Ten] Iowa only needs a 48.525 on floor to secure a spot in the top 28, while Penn State needs a big 49.425 to reach the same mark.
End of Big Ten Session Two
[2:00 – Big Ten] After the first session of the day, Iowa moves up to No. 21, Penn State remains No. 27, Illinois moves up to No. 28, while Maryland drops to No. 31. None of these ranks are set in stone yet, but Iowa has successfully avoided a first round meet.
Start of Big 12 Session One / Start of MAC
[2:00 – Big 12] Session 1 of the Big 12s is getting started with BYU, West Virginia, and Iowa State. Iowa State was eliminated from postseason contention last night when Rutgers locked in its spot, but West Virginia still sits on the bubble and can solidify its spot in the top 36 with a 195.575 today.
[2:00 – MAC] The MAC championship is also starting now, but with seven teams competing, don’t expect final results any time soon. Just one of the seven teams competing here is still a postseason contender. Ball State needs a 196.85 or higher to have a chance of qualifying.
[2:30 – Big 12] West Virginia struggled on bars in rotation one and have a lot of ground to make up if it wants to secure its spot at regionals.
Start of ACC
[2:30 – ACC] Session 1 of ACCs is a dual meet between Clemson and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh was eliminated from regionals contention last night. Clemson is currently No. 29 and needs a score of 196.075 or better to ensure it doesn’t end up in a play-in spot.
[3:00 – Big 12 / MAC] West Virginia made up a little ground in rotation two, but will need to average a 49.238 per event in the second half of this meet to reach its target score. It may not matter though, as bubble competitor Ball State had a shaky first rotation and qualifying is beginning to look like a long shot for the Cardinals.
[3:35 – Big 12 / MAC] West Virginia needs a 49.375 on vault to lock in No. 36, which would be a season high for the Mountaineers. However, Ball State needing to average a 49.7+ on its remaining events means it is likely eliminated, keeping West Virginia’s hopes alive even without that score.
Start of SEC Session One
[3:45 – SEC] Session one of SECs featuring Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and Kentucky has started. All four teams are locked into seeded positions for regionals, but what seed they will be is still up for grabs. One score to keep an eye on is a 197.5 for Kentucky which would lock them into the top 8.
End of Big 12 Session One
[4:00 – Big 12] A 194.875 for West Virginia will end up not counting towards its NQS. The Mountaineers stay at No. 35 for the time being, but are at risk of being knocked out by UC Davis later today. BYU’s 196.275 brings them up to No. 32 in the real-time rankings.
End of ACC Session One
[4:20 – ACC] Clemson surpassed its target with a 196.175 that moves it up to No. 27 real-time. While the Tigers can’t finish lower than 28, they may be subject to bad luck of geography and get relegated to the play-in round in Tuscaloosa depending on where the rest of the play-in teams end up ranking.
[4:30 – SEC] After two rotations, Alabama is the only team on pace to increase its ranking. The Crimson Tide would move up to No. 11 and knock Auburn down to No. 13 if they keep their current pace through the second half.
Start of Big Ten Session Three / Start of MWC / Start of EAGL
[5:00 – Big Ten] The final session of Big Tens is featuring all regionals-bound teams: Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, and UCLA. Some scores to watch out for: 197.825 for UCLA to lock in at least 5th, 197.5 for Michigan State to lock in at least 10th, and 197.3 for Minnesota to lock in at least 13th.
[5:00 – MWC] Of the four teams competing, Air Force and San Jose State have been eliminated from the postseason, but currently have Maggie Slife (AA) and Madison Gustitus (BB) in qualifying positions as individuals. Boise State and Utah State are locked into regionals. Utah State will be in a play-in round regardless of what happens today, while Boise State can guarantee a spot in the top 28 with a 196.55.
[5:00 – EAGL] Five teams are competing at the EAGL championship, but just Towson still has postseason hopes remaining. A 195.8 will guarantee Towson a spot at regionals.
End of MAC / End of SEC Session One
[5:30 – MAC] Unfortunately Ball State did not reach the score it needed to make regionals. Our bubble is down to just three teams for two spots: West Virginia, Towson, and UC Davis.
[5:30 – SEC] Alabama kept its pace from the half-way point and moves up to No. 11 real-time. Kentucky remains at No. 8, Georgia is still No. 10, and Auburn drops to No. 13. Oregon State also drops a rank to No. 12. None of these ranks are locked in yet though.
[5:35 – EAGL] Towson’s 49.25 on floor in rotation one keeps it well above the pace it needs to qualify for regionals.
[5:45 – MWC] Boise State’s 48.775 on beam in rotation one is well below the pace it needs to guarantee a top 28 finish. However, after BYU’s score at the Big 12 Championship earlier today, Boise State is guaranteed to finish ahead of both BYU and Utah State. Since all three are within 400 miles of Salt Lake City, that means BYU and Utah State will compete in the first round and Boise State will get the bye even if the Broncos don’t finish in the top 28.
[5:55 – EAGL] Towson’s 49.1 on vault keeps the Tigers on track to far exceed the 195.8 they need to guarantee regionals qualification. They need to average 9.7525 on the remaining counting routines to secure that number.
[6:00 – Big Ten] We have two rotations completed in Ann Arbor and UCLA is on pace for a 197.8 which is just 0.025 short of the number needed to guarantee a top-5 ranking and a ticket to the Salt Lake City regional. MSU is exceeding the pace needed for a 197.5 which would lock in a top-10 ranking.

The scoring at Big Tens is already looser in the second session than the first. It must be so frustrating for the first session teams, especially Nebraska and Ohio State, who for some crazy reason got stuck in session one even though they are the fifth and sixth ranked teams in the Big Ten.
