LIVE BLOG: No. 1 Oklahoma at No. 9 Georgia

We’re live from Stegeman Coliseum for one of the final Friday Night Heights of the season as the Georgia Bulldogs host the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in a highly anticipated SEC showdown.

Oklahoma comes in fresh off a dominant home victory over Michigan, where the Sooners notched yet another 198.000+ performance—marking their third such score this season. They swept all event titles and the all-around, with Jordan Bowers delivering a senior night to remember. Bowers earned a season-high 39.775 in the all-around and claimed top honors on bars and beam—sharing those titles with fellow senior Audrey Davis and junior Faith Torrez, respectively. Bowers’ standout performance also earned her SEC Gymnast of the Week honors for the third time this season, tying her for the most weekly awards with teammate Faith Torrez and Florida’s Leanne Wong.

Georgia enters tonight looking to bounce back from a tough road loss to LSU. Despite the defeat, the Bulldogs showed flashes of brilliance, including stellar routines from Lily Smith, who tied for second on bars alongside LSU’s Haleigh Bryant and Kailin Chio, and took home a share of the floor title with the same pair. Other must-watch routines for Georgia include Kara Eaker’s elegance, JaFree Scott’s powerful sets, and dynamic performances from Anya Turner, Ady Wahl, and Nyla Aquino.

With postseason looming, Stegeman Coliseum will be buzzing tonight. Grab some popcorn and settle in—this is one of the last chances to catch SEC gymnastics action in the regular season, and it’s sure to deliver!
