Recruiting Roundup: January 17

Now that the NCAA season has started and recruiting has slowed down, the level 10 season has started to heat up. This week Jasmine Cawley (Alabama, ’25), Sophie Schriever (Iowa, ’25), and Ariana Frechette (Kentucky, ’25) qualified for the 2025 Nastia Liukin Cup which will be held Sunday, Feb. 23 at Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.

  • Ava Kelly (’25) has committed to Temple after previously announcing her commitment to George Washington.

Meet Previews

Chow’s Winter Cup and Hill’s Maryland Classic, both qualifiers for the Nastia Liukin Cup, are taking place this weekend. The gyms that are attending Chow’s have yet to be released, but we do have the gyms slated to participate at Hill’s Maryland Classic. Based on who we expect to see in competition, look to see the following names in contention for the top spots:

Hill’s Maryland Classic

  • Elyse Wenner (LSU, ’25)
  • Raeya Linton (Stanford, ’26)
  • Audrey Snyder (Auburn, ’26)

Meet Results

Lady Luck Invitational 

There were four groups of competitors across eight sessions competing level 10 at this meet. Sophie Schriever (Iowa, ’25) earned the Nastia Liukin Cup spot with the highest all-around score of 39.000. Jada Kim (Georgia, ’26) and Bailey Stroud (Utah, ’25), who also topped their groups, earned the second and third highest scores of the meet with 38.700 and 38.650 respectively. Sydney Williams (three-star, ’26) earned a share of the vault title with Schriever and got a personal best score of 9.900 along the way.

Atlanta Crown

Jasmine Cawley (Alabama, ’25) qualified for the Nastia Liukin cup with an impressive 39.250 all-around score. Ella Fine (Auburn, ’26) and Audrey Snyder (Auburn, ’26) placed second and third with 39.975 and 38.675 respectively.

Wisconsin Dells Safari

Ariana Frechette (Kentucky, ’26) took home the crown here and earned the spot for the Nastia Liukin cup, per a USAG release. As of the time of writing, meet results had not been published.

Other notable results

  • Cameron Tassone (four-star ’26) swept all events at the St. Jude Benefit meet, finishing with 38.600 all-around and a new high score of 9.775 on vault.
  • Molly Brinkman (Clemson, ’25) took home the title at the California Grand Invitational with a 38.500.
  • Tali Flanigan (Temple, ’26) won the senior division at the Brestyan’s Invitational, earning a personal best of 9.725 on bars.

Class of 2025

  • Gianna Scivetti has committed to Ithaca to continue her academic and athletic career. She has been training a blind full to double back dismount on bars.
