Recruiting Roundup: October 11

Oklahoma commit Presley Duke, the top recruit in the class of 2026, was the eighth of 11 five-star recruits to choose a college. Before committing she visited Utah, LSU, and Alabama. Jayla Hang, Alicia Zhou, and Simone Brown are the final uncommitted five-stars in the class of ’26.

All but two of the colleges who finished in the top 10 last season have secured at least one recruit in the class of ’26. Oklahoma leads the pack with seven recruits, followed by LSU, California, and Kentucky with three; Alabama, Florida, and Denver with two; and Utah with one. Stanford and Arkansas are still waiting for their first commit. 

News

Mackenzie Estep (Oklahoma, ‘25), the top recruit in her class, has resumed training following a season-ending ankle injury. Training clips show her looking strong on all four events.

Charlotte Booth, GBR (Auburn, ‘26), Tonya Paulsson, SWE (California, ‘25), and Sirine Aboulhoda, EGY (uncommitted three-star, ‘26) competed at the Szombathely World Challenge Cup in Hungary last weekend. Booth and Paulsson both qualified for event finals on bars, beam, and floor. Booth finished first on bars, third on beam, and seventh on floor while Paulsson finished second on bars, first on beam, and first on floor.

Hezly Rivera (LSU, ‘26), who helped her team to gold at the Paris Olympics, was celebrated with a parade in her hometown of Oradell, New Jersey. The city also officially proclaimed October 6th as Hezly Day.

Official Visit News

  • Alaska hosted a visit for Kenli Brown ’26, and Elena Markley ’26 (recently committed) as well as Hannah Rojo, Kyli Cole, and Madison Jordan from the class of 2025. 
  • Florida hosted five-star recruits Dulcy Caylor, Jayla Hang, and Kieryn Finnell alongside four-star Raeya Linton. Caylor and Finnell later committed.
  • Stanford hosted an official visit last weekend with a number of three and four-star recruits amongst the visiting group. Athletes visiting were Shea Orlando, Julia Rausa, Maddie Stewart, Sydney Fleming, Daelin Diaz-Luong, and Lily Power.

Commitment Changes

  • Addisyn Doan ’25 is no longer committed to New Hampshire.
  • Terra Rutter, a five-star recruit in the class of ’25, has committed to Denver. She was previously committed to Iowa.

Class of 2025

  • Jaslyn McComeskey, an athlete at Roth’s CrossPoint in Pennsylvania, has committed to West Chester. She is a regional qualifier and trains a front pike half vault.
  • Jennifer Williams, a four-star Swedish elite, has committed to Stanford. Williams attended two senior European championships and competed on the world cup circuit last season. She placed fourth in the bars finals at Baku and was the only gymnast in the final to score above an eight for execution besides the winner, Kaylia Neymour. 
  • Twin City Twisters’ Peyton Nock, a three-time national qualifier, committed to Iowa State. She has a high score on floor of 9.575. 
  • Madison Glenn announced her intention to continue her athletic and academic career at UW-Eau Clare. She’s been working her way back to competition following elbow surgery in January 2023, competing vault twice and floor once.
  • Aly Sobczak announced her commitment to West Chester. She is a two-time regional qualifier and has a top floor score of 9.650. She also competes a triple series on beam and is training a Yurchenko full on vault.
  • Samantha Bartlett has announced her intention to continue her athletic and academic career at Temple. She was a 2024 nationals qualifier and has an all-around high of 36.525.
  • New Hampshire native and two-time national qualifier Mia LeBlanc committed to Illinois State on a full-ride. The future Redbird will arrive at college with NCAA-ready handstands.
  • Sophia Summers has committed to William & Mary. She placed second on beam at 2023 Easterns and has an all-around high of 37.300.
  • Jordyn Murray will join Brockport to continue her academic and athletic career. Though her top scores come on vault and beam her opening double back on floor is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
  • Texas native Hannah Rojo has announced her intention to join the team at Alaska. She is the first recruit to commit to the Seawolves in her class and brings a floor high of 9.675.
  • Gabby Ruseva has committed to TWU. She is a 2024 regional qualifier and has a floor high of 9.450 and an all-around high of 36.325.
  • Though Ball State commit Carley Stalder is strong on vault and floor she has an impressive all-around high of 37.550.
  • Brown has added two to the class of ’25 with California’s Wailana Whitford and Virginia’s Rehna Saalinger. Whitford’s top scores in level 10 come on vault and bars while Salinger’s are on beam.

Class of 2026

  • UCLA added a pair of elite recruits from Texas with Michelle Pineda and Zoey Molomo, who both train at Metroplex. Pineda is a five-star recruit who competes internationally for Mexico and is the reigning Pan American all-around and beam champion. Prior to committing to UCLA she visited Alabama and Denver. Molomo is a four-star recruit who is strong across all four events. She took home bronze on both vault and bars at the 2023 Winter Cup and competed at the US Olympic Trials in 2024.
  • Elena Markley committed to Alaska on a full-ride. She is a current level nine at Pacific Reign and looks set to compete level 10 this coming season. She is currently training a Geinger and a double layout dismount on bars.
  • Paige Alexander, a two-time national qualifier and four-star recruit, has committed to Ohio State on a full-ride. Alexander won bronze in the all-around and beam at the 2024 national championships.
  • Michelle Lin will continue her athletic and academic career at Denver on a full ride. She visited Utah before announcing her commitment to the Pioneers. Lin brings an all-around high of 36.400 and a high of 9.725 on vault.
  • Five-star elite recruits Dulcy Caylor and Kieryn Finnell have become the first two athletes to be added to the class at Florida. Finnell is a strong beam worker and finished third all-around as a junior at nationals in 2023. Caylor, who trains at World Champions Centre, competed at U.S. Olympic trials in 2024 and is a two-time competitor at U.S. nationals.
  • California, the number two program in the country, added three commits this week: Five-star recruit Imani White, four-star Morgan Reihl, and three-star Sydney Snyder. White has a massive all-around high of 38.900 with highs of 9.900 on beam and bars and 9.925 on vault. She is a state and regional champion on bars and finished second on the event at 2024 nationals. Reihl is a national champion on beam. She also qualified to the Nastia Liukin cup in 2024 where she finished third all-around and second on beam. Snyder is a former junior elite and has strong vault and bars; she has a level 10 all-around high of 38.100.
  • Presley Duke, the top recruit in her class, has committed to Oklahoma. Duke is a two-time Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier who finished second all-around in 2022 in the junior competition. Duke has a standout bar routine where she has scored a 10.0 and holds five of the top 100 scores in the country in 2024. In the same year she was a state, regional and national all-around champion.
  • Ella Fine, a four-star recruit from North Carolina, has announced her commitment to Auburn. Fine is a two-time Nastia Liukin qualifier where she placed second all-around in 2024. She is also a three-time national qualifier on floor, where she took the top spot in 2023.
  • Four-star Jazmyn Jimenez is the first Utah commit in her class. The red rocks are gaining a strong four-star elite recruit in Jimenez who has also been a level 10 state, regional and national all-around champion. The level 10 state, regional, and all-around champion also has a beam high of 9.900 and a powerful Yurchenko full on vault which looks more than upgradable to a one-and-a-half.
  • Ariana Frechette has committed to Kentucky. She is a four-star recruit, three-time national qualifier, and two-time Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier. In 2024 she placed third on both bars and floor, and finished fourth in the all-around at the Nastia Liukin.
  • Strong all-around athlete Shea Orlando announced her verbal commitment to Michigan. The four-star level 10, who has gotten a 9.900 or higher on vault, bars, and floor, previously visited both Stanford and California. 

Training Updates

  • Bradley Burton (Arkansas, ‘25) is training a Yurchenko one and a half. She previously competed a Yurchenko full.
  • Sage Curtis (Utah, ‘25), is training a handspring layout on beam. She upgraded her double pike to a double layout on floor.
  • Sophia Williams (’25), of SCATS gymnastics, is training a front handspring front tuck on vault and a Hindorff on bars.
  • Addison Tandeski (‘25) is training a whip half to Rudi on floor and a blind full to Tkatchev on bars. 
  • Luiselena Rodriguez and Georgina Slack, both uncommitted three-star recruits in the class of ’25, are training Yurchenko one and a half vaults.
