There’s a lot that happens on the gymternet each week. So much so that it can be hard to keep track of it all. From training updates and COVID-year announcements to recruiting rumors and coaching news, we don’t blame you for missing some important points here and there.

That’s where we come in. Last Week in College Gym is your one-stop shop for all the important headlines from the previous week in college gymnastics. No matter if you’re taking a social media break, went on vacation, or just don’t have the capacity to follow every single gymnast, team, and fan, we have you covered.

Top Storylines

Pac-12 Adds Boise State

The Pac-12 announced it is adding Boise State in 2026. Colorado State, San Diego State, and Fresno State, none of which sponsor gymnastics, will also become part of the conference. Boise State joins Oregon State as the only schools that sponsor gymnastics in the Pac-12, which recently saw the departure of UCLA and Washington to the Big Ten, as well as Stanford and California to the ACC.

Other Newsworthy Items

  • Michigan State’s Board of Trustees approved plans to build a new multi-sport arena on campus, which will play host to gymnastics, wrestling, and volleyball. The arena will be big enough to host Big Ten championships in all three sports.  
  • UCLA junior Jordan Chiles sat courtside for a New York Liberty game with UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers and met Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu. 
  • Chiles also walked in the Kim Shui show at New York Fashion Week and attended Nike’s showcase with singer Tyla.
  • Capping off an exciting week, Chiles presented at the VMA Awards, where rapper Flavor Flav presented her with a bronze stopwatch chain. 
  • LSU fifth-year Olivia Dunne appeared on Good Morning America to promote her new docuseries “The Money Game,” now streaming on Prime Video.
  • Georgia’s student newspaper the Red & Black profiled the recent hiring of Georgia co-head coach Cecile Canqueteau-Landi and the promotion of Ryan Roberts to co-head coach.
  • Utah senior Amelie Morgan was named as an ambassador for the United Kingdom’s Gymnastics Competition League.
  • Former Maryland gymnast Jill Fisher-Gali was named to the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame. 
  • Former Rhode Island gymnast Alison Silva was named as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
  • Florida football legend and SEC Nation personality Tim Tebow wore a Leanne Wong bow tie on this Saturday’s show. 
  • Former UCLA standout and US national team member Vanessa Zamarippa was named to the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2024.

Training Updates

  • Auburn freshman Katelyn Jong is training a Yurchenko one and a half on vault. 
  • BYU freshman Taeva Greenberg is training bars after tearing her ACL in January.
  • Auburn senior Sarah Zois is training a Maloney on bars.
  • Maryland senior Sierra Kondo is training a full-twisting double layout dismount on bars.
  • LSU freshman Lexi Zeiss is training a tucked gainer full dismount on beam.
  • LSU freshman Kaylin Chio is training a Deltchev on bars.
  • West Virginia senior Anna Leigh is training floor. She has not competed the event since early in the 2023 season.
  • Arizona sophomore Abigayle Martin is training a bail to handstand combination on bars.
