LIVE BLOG: No. 1 Oklahoma at No. 12 Arkansas

It’s the second meeting of the year for No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Arkansas. Both teams previously met at the Metroplex Challenge in February, where Oklahoma won by 1.5 points over Arkansas.

Last week, Arkansas set a new program record, scoring 197.650 on the road in a win against Missouri. Arkansas ended the meet with a record-setting beam rotation scoring 49.575. Oklahoma had a two-meet weekend last week and first defeated Michigan, setting three new NCAA records: the new 4th highest team all-around score (198.650), tied 5th highest team bars score (49.725), and tied 3rd highest team beam score (49.800). The Sooners ended the weekend easily winning a quad meet vs. Clemson, Penn, and Texas Woman’s by scoring 198.300, almost 2 points above the next team.

There are many individuals to highlight for this meet, starting with Oklahoma’s Audrey Davis, who scored her first (and long-awaited) perfect 10 on uneven bars last week. Also, keep an eye on Oklahoma’s Ragan Smith, who has scored four consecutive 10s on the beam, and Jordan Bowers, who has currently ranked second in the individual all-around, 8th on vault, 1st on bars, and is tied for 3rd on the floor. For Arkansas, its floor rotation is always a highlight led by Frankie Price and Lauren Williams, who are currently tied for ninth on floor. It will also be interesting to watch its beam rotation to see if it could repeat the record-setting performance last week.

Watch along on the SECN+. Here we go!

After 2: Oklahoma 99.125, Arkansas 98.375

Another good rotation for both teams. Oklahoma has increased their lead by 0.75. Its difficultly on vault allows it to have steps/hops and still score very well. Arkansas found many of its landings on bars. There was an unfortunate fall from Jones, but the other routines allow Arkansas to not count a fall. Looking forward to seeing the Arkansas beam rotation after its record setting performance last week.
