LIVE BLOG: NCGA-West Regional

Welcome to the marathon that is the WIAC championship! We’re here to see these eight teams duke it out for a conference championship as well as the two automatic qualifying spots to the NCGA national competition. In previous years, the top three teams at this competition qualified to nationals, so the stakes are even higher than usual. Tonight, be prepared to be in it for the long haul as the action will be separated into two flights. For a full breakdown of the rotation order, check out the WIAC website

The reigning-champion Oshkosh Titans enter the meet as the No. 1 seed and the obvious favorite, but the competition won’t be defeated easily. La Crosse is having a record breaking season with multiple 193-plus scores, while Whitewater posted a DIII-best 194.450 earlier this season at the Tennessee Classic. Truthfully, the top five teams all have scores over 190 this season, so the automatic national bids will go to the teams who can put it all together on the right night. However, with SAS at-large bids up for grabs, each team will be aiming for the highest team total possible.

With eight rotations on the docket, let’s get ready to buckle down and get this show on the road.

Rotation 1: UW-Whitewater VT, UW-La Crosse UB, UW-Eau Claire BB,  Gustavus Adolphus FX

Warm up: UW-Stout VT, UW-Oshkosh UB, Winona State BB, Hamline FX

Okay, y’all. Intros are over. Let the organized chaos begin.

Lee (Gustavus): Rudi to stop. A little chest down. Great extension on her leaps there.

Barker UWL: Swing half, Gienger to overshoot. Right on. Smooth connection. Short last HS. Blind full double tuck with a step forward.

Toth (UWEC): BHS LOSO. Yes ma’am. So solid. Punch front full. Just a baby step back.

Dudziak UWW: HUGE Yurchenko tuck full with the chest nice and hight.

Janssen (UWL): Nice Jaeger. Overshoot to bent arms. Fought for it. Blind full, double tuck with a step back.

Michaud (Gustavus): Front double full-ish. Not quite around, but I love the difficulty at the end of the routine.

Vasali (UWEC): Front aerial to split jump. Great lines on the jump there. Tuck 1.5 to finish. A medium step forward.

Best (UWL): Maloney, to overshoot to toe up to high. Smooth connection. Get that bonus. double layout. Slightly piked in the hips. But great landing. 9.8!!!

Guy (Gustavus): Front double full on floor was AMAZING. Go Gusties. Switch side half, straddle jump. loso TO GET THAT back skill requirement. Front lay, front full. Yes.

Ravara (UWEC): BHS LOSO. Small wobble. Swtich half, split jump. Gainer pike. Stuck.

Stuck Y full for whitewater.

Another bars hit for UWL. Caught a get Tkatchev and a blind full to double tuck with a small step back from Robbins.

Whitewater is straight killing it on vault. Kara Welsh with another stick. 9.875!!!

Main (UWL): Piked Jaeger to open. Loss of leg form on the overshoot. Blind full, double tuck, a small step.

Campbell (UWEC): Switch leap, split 3/4. Big chest down lean. Back 1.5 with a hop forward to finish.

Chesley (UWL): Tkatchev. Sky high. Overshoot to toe hand. Double layout, some give in the knees with a step forward. 9.7

Dahlin (UWEC): Front toss, back handspring. Switch leap, switch side. A bit off, and couldn’t quite save it. Gainer pike, stuck. Way to finish.

Binfet (Gustavus): Ending with a double tuck. A touch short with a step forward.

Jahnke (Gustavu): : Love this music. Never gets old. Rudi to double stag. Easy peasy. Tour jete full-adjacent. Not quite around. Back 1.5 to front lay. Some leg separaton.

Guynn (UWEC): Front aerial to split jump. Switch leap, straddle 1/4. Solid. Some lack of position. BHS LOSO. Undercut there, and couldn’t quite save it. Front full with a step back. So UWEC will be counting a fall, unfortunately.

AFTER ONE: UW-La Crosse 48.375, UW-Whitewater 48.200, Gustavus Adolphus 47.175, UW-Eau Claire 46.650

So the first event mostly went off without a hitch. La Crosse leads after one following some high flying bar routines, but Whitewater is not far behind sporting several stuck landings on vault. Gustavus put together a great opening event, showing off powerful, dynamic, and difficult tumbling. While Eau Claire was forced to count a fall with the last two routines, the rotation was highlighted by a 9.600 hit from Linnea Vasali.

Flight B, here we come!

Rotation 2: UW-Stout VT, UW-Oshkosh UB, Winona State BB, Hamline FX

Warm up: Gustavus Adolphus VT, UW-Whitewater UB, UW-La Crosse BB, UW-Eau Claire FX

Gagner (Stout): Yurchenko tuck full with a step forward to open vault for Stout.

Sellner (WSU): Cat leap, tour jete 1/4. Love the uniqueness, small bobble. Front aerial, BHS. Solid. Switch leap, straddle 1/4. On it. Looking confident. Gainer front full is stuck

Qualich (Stout): Front handspring front tuck. Strong landing.

Hayden (UWO): Delchev to open. Pak salto. Turn on low right on top. Hit the last HS. Blind full, double tuck. Chest up, step back.
Zack (Hamline) :Wolf 1.5 to open. Rudi, mostly around. Tour jete half, wolf full. Whip 1.5 front lay, front tuck. A touch low.

McConkay (UWO): Great opening release. Amplitude, perfect. Line, perfect. Overshoot. Hitting all the positions in this set. Nearly stuck blind full double back.

Schaefer (Stout): Another hit Y full in the layout position.

Looked like a fall on beam from maybe Duman? She didn’t quite have the lift on her side aerial to save it.

Buffington (UWO): Blind, Jaeger to overshoot. Great height on that release. Arabian double front was absolutely stuck. My freaking word. Chills. Don’t sleep on DIII gymnastics. 9.9!!!

Kelley (WSU): STUCK back 1.5 dismount.

Hamline : Whip half, front full to open. Such a hard connection pass.

Berens (UWO): Jaeger, so far, but managed. Overshoot a touch low but got the connection bonus. FTDT, a touch early on the release so had to hop forward.

Miley (WSU): Side aerial, RO. A touch slow on the connection. Switch leap, split, beat. Way to work to get the leap connection requirement. Side aerial two feet. A touch low. Fought for it, but she wasn’t able to save it this time. Rudi with a step forward.

Zeilinger (UWO): Clear hip, Tkatchev. Some knee bend. Swing half, overshoot. Double layout, a step forward. 9.700

Raymond (Hamline): Double pike to open. Straight to the lunge. Back 1.5 to front layout. Wolf 1.5 to get that second D requirement. Great set.

Bateman (WSU): BHS LOSO. Split the beam there, but somehow did not fall. Standing switch side. AKA a Bateman. Cat leap, switch side. Lovely. Back 1.5 to a step forward. So unfortunate that she fell. She’s such a beautiful beamer.

Stoenner (Hamline): Front full, front tuck half. Mistimed on the punch. Tour jete half, split full. LOSO because back skill. Rudi to double stag. So much power.

Weikel (Hamline): Rudi to double stag. Lovely control. Tour jete half, popa. Mostly around. Ro Back tuck. Wolf 1.5. Nice completion of rotation. Front full, front tuck. A little awkward on the punch, so she had to muscle it around.

Stoltz (WSU): RO LOSO. So lovely. Such grace. Big smile from her. Beat jump for fun. Switch leap, switch half. Arms out of position, so had to take the wobble. Back 1.5 is DEEEEEP on the landing with a step back. She stalled in the air a touch, just lacked some rotation. Great set following a couple of mistakes.

AFTER TWO: UW-Oshkosh 48.575, UW-La Crosse 48.375, UW-Whitewater 48.200, UW-Stout 47.775, Gustavus Adolphus 47.175, UW-Eau Claire 46.650, Hamline 46.600, Winona State 46.150

Is anyone surprised that Oshkosh is in the lead following bars? I’m not. The entire rotation was lights out, but Emily Buffington was next level today. Stout showed off all of its vault upgrades, hitting all of its twisting Yurchenkos today to put it in a good spot heading into the rest of the meet. Hamline strung together a strong floor rotation, able to count only scores about 9.0. Beam is proving to be the event that will be the nemesis on the day, so Winona will look to bring it back on floor in its next rotations.

Rotation 3: Gustavus Adolphus VT, UW-Whitewater UB, UW-La Crosse BB, UW-Eau ClaireFX

Warm up: Hamline VT, UW-Stout UB, UW-Oshkosh BB, Winona State FX

Willis (Gustavus): Yurchenko layout with a mostly stuck landing

Halcom (UWL): BHS LOSO. Leg up, brought it back down. Front aerial, beat. Big wobble on the leap connection with several arm waves. Front full is stuck to finish. Way to fight to stay on.

Pesch (UWW): Blind Jaeger, overshoot. Fought for the connection. Blind full, double tuck.

Campbell (UWEC): Back 1.5 to front layout for her connection pass. So smooth. Maintained the layout shape throughout.

Matulka (UWL): BHS BHS LOSO. Sharp arms. Great. Finished with a back 1.5 with a baby hop.

Another Jaeger to overshoot from UWW on bars. Double layout to finish. Talley is the name flashed.

Leese (UWEC): Front lay to Rudi. Lovely. Great pop off the floor in that connection pass.

Magel UWW: Blind, piked Jaeger. Fought for that catch. Loose on the overshoot catch. Hit the last HS. Double layout, mild whip lash on the landing. A step back.

Zepeda (UWL): BHS LOSO. A little hip out, good correction with the arms. Switch leap, split 3/4. Beat, Side aerial. Some lean. Gainer full, wanted to be stuck, but popped up too early and had to take the step back.

Donovan (UWEC): Front full front tuck to open. Finishing with a Rudi to split jump. Some wild arms, but landing controlled well.

Flom (UWW): Blind, piked Jaeger, some leg form. Pak, feet apart. Blind full, double tuck. Left her eyes down, so had to take the step forward.

Robbins (UWL): Switch leap, straddle 3/4. Lock legged with a lean forward at the hips. Front toss, beat. Smooth connection. Back 1.5 with a hop back.

Sorry to have missed Horsch from Gustavus on vault. She upgraded to a Y full.

Scott (UWW): Blind full, delchev. Overshoot is pretty short. Double layout with a hop forward. Strong set for the Lindenwood transfer.

Christenson (UWL): BHS BHS LOSO. Pretty crooked, so it was unsavable. Switch to switch connection. Back 1.5 with a hop back. That will be the routine to drop, unfortunately. 8.975

Gallun with a ginormous double pike on floor. My word.

Kollhoff (UWW): Tkatchev to overshoot. Some loss of toe point. Blind full, double tuck. A medium step back.

Dickson (UWL): BHS LOSO. Yes. Settle in. Front aerial, a touch around the side. Switch leap, switch half. I would not give that connection bonus. So slow. Gainer pike, chest up but a hop in place. The fall won’t count. 9.125. Can confirm a likely start value issue there. That is unfortunate.

Toth (UWEC): Rudi, some chest down. Tour jete half, wolf full. Good amplitude.

O’Connell (UWEC): Double tuck with maybe an OOB. Might have kept the heel up, unsure. Great height, though. Front full, front tuck. Tour jete half, wolf full, popa. Get your bonus, girl. Rudi to stag jump. Nearly OOB again but turned in the air to try to save it. So powerful.

AFTER THREE: UW-Whitewater 96.450, UW-La Crosse 95.300, Gustavus Adolphus 94.575, UW-Eau Claire 94.000, UW-Oshkosh 48.575,UW-Stout 47.775, Hamline 46.600, Winona State 46.150

UWL put itself a touch behind the eight ball after beam. Honestly, whoever of the top teams hits beam is likely to come away with the meet at this point. Right now, we’re 0/3 on counting no beam mishaps, so we shall see. Whitewater kept the ball rolling on bars, continuing to assert itself as a contender.

Rotation 4: Hamline VT, UW-Stout UB, UW-Oshkosh BB, Winona State FX

Warm up: UW-Eau Claire VT, Gustavus Adolphus UB, UW-Whitewater BB, UW-La Crosse FX

Berens (UWO): BHS LOSO. Cat leap, front aerial to split jump. A touch slow on the connection. Switch leap, split. Some loss of back foot point. Gainer full dismount. A small adjustment.

Knutson (WSU): Stuck the first connection pass. Back 1.5 to front layout. Rudi, some extra power.

Opening up with a hit on bars from Kiara Brown! Just caught the dismount.

Hayden (UWO): BHS LOSO. Just kind of stepped off… Not loving that so early in the lineup. Switch leap, split jump. Lacking some back leg. Cat leap, front toss. Finished with the stuck dismount.

Cummins (Stout): Maloney to pak. Blind full, double tuck. A step back.

Disekrud (WSU): Front lay, Rudi. Managed nicely. Such a hard connection. Switch side, popa. Pretty shaping. this music is the MOVE.

Cienkus (UWO): Front aerial, split jump. Lines for days. BHS LOSO. So solid. So confident. Switch leap, straddle 1/4. Gainer full is stuck.

Green (Stout): Clear hip to Gienger. Close. Overshoot. Stalder to double tuck. Deep on the landing but saved.

Miley (WSU): Back 1.5 to front layout. Rudi to split jump is so pretty. Love that finish.

Romano UWO: Front toss. UWO will also be counting a fall. My word. Switch leap, huge leg up wobble. Split to beat. Front aerial, BHS. Great. A step forward on the dismount.

Lutz (Stout): Blind, Jaeger to overshoot. Wow. So close, surprised she went for the connection. Blind full, double tuck.

Stoltz (WSU): Front lay, rudi. So dynamic. Some leg separation. Back 1.5 to front layout.

Buffington (UWO): Side aerial, Round off. A step back. Switch half. Textbook. Switch leap, split. Some loss of toe point. Kick Rudi, a hop back. A gutsy performance from her. 9.675

Ferguson (Stout): Blind, Jaeger. So prettyyyyyy. Blind full, overshoot. Some rushing with loss of form there. Toe on front pike half. Stuck. YESSSSS. 9.7!!!

Zoromski (UWO): BHS LOSO. On it. Cat leap, front toss, split. Connected nicely. Switch leap, split. Flexed front foot. A touch slow. Gainer full, small hop back. A fighter.

Caught Kropiwiec’s huge ending double tuck for Winona State. Her power is unmatched.

Wilson (Stout): Blind, Jaeger is just missed. Couldn’t quite get her dowel around the bar. Overshoot. Double tuck to finish with a step. Luckily there were five hits preceding, so that will not count.

Sellner (WSU): Back 1.5 to front lay. Mild leg crossing. Controlled nicely. Stunning leap connection, getting the wolf 1.5 all the way around. Rudi to split jump. Beautiful, but some loss of control on the landing.

AFTER FOUR: UW-Whitewater 96.450, UW-Oshkosh 96.150, UW-La Crosse 95.300, Gustavus Adolphus 94.575, UW-Eau Claire 94.000, Winona State 94.150, UW-Stout 95.250, Hamline 93.100

What did I say? Battle of the beam. So ready to see what Whitewater does in the next rotation… While Oshkosh did have to count a fall on beam, the team did manage a respectable mid 47 team total. That keeps the Titans still in the race. I was impressed with the number of upgraded bar routines Stout has this season, going five for six on the event. Winona State STUNNED on floor with the highest event total of the rotation.

Rotation 5: UW-Eau Claire VT, Gustavus Adolphus UB, UW-Whitewater BB, UW-La Crosse FX

Warm up: Winona State VT, Hamline UB, UW-Stout BB, UW-Oshkosh FX

Michaud (Gustavus): Overshoot. Toe up to high. Double full dismount. So unique, just a step forward.

Breckwoldt (UWL): Opened with her connection pass. Switch half, wolf full. Ending with a double back. Bouncy to the lunge.

Magel (UWW): BHS LOSO. Small lean. Switch leap, straddle 1/4. Hitch kick, side aerial. Back 1.5 with a medium step forward.

Guy (Gustavus): Clear hip, overshoot to toe up to high. Double tuck with a step back.

Dickson (UWL): Rudi to split jump. So much power. Ran away from it. Another front pass only routine. Larger squat on the connection pass landing.

Kollhoff (UWW): A wobble on the turn. Aerial. Split jump 1/2, split jump. Her hip position was not my favorite. Side aerial. Back 1.5 with a pace forward. I think I missed the series, but seemed like a strong set. Another hit.

Overshoot giant transition with a half turn up to high from Horsch. Love unique skills in the bar lineup.

Haberstock (UWW): BHS LOSO. So sharp. Beat, straddle 3/4. Small adjustment. Side aerial, large chest down lean. Switch leap, split jump. Loss of toe point, not quite 180. Back 1.5 with a medium step forward. Another hit.

Robbins (UWL): Back 1.5 front layout. Good straddle position on the leap pass. Double tuck, a touch short with a step forward.

Another bar hit for the Gusties with Smaby. Double tuck to finish that one up. 9.625!!!

Gupta (UWW): BHS LOSO. Money moves. So easy. UWW is in it to win it. Amplitude on the jump was crazy. Front tuck. Ok E skills. Pardon me. Switch leap, straddle 3/4. Not quite the straddle position. Back 1.5 with a step forward. 9.525

Taylor (UWL): Connection pass to open, mild bent knees on the layout. Switch side half, straddle jump. Double tuck. Nice and around.

Hammond (UWW): BHS LOSO. Solid as they come. Switch leap, switch side. Cartwheel… Gainer LOSO. WOW. Straddle 1/2. Gainer full. Landed with her legs quite straight. A small hop.

Lansing (UWL): Switch side popa. Double pike, chest low.

Lee (Gustavus): Toe hand, Maloney. Lovely lines. Straight to the overshoot. Toe hand, some arching. Blind full, giant, double tuck. May have put her knee down…

Knetzke (UWW): Front toss, BHS. Smooth connection. Kept it moving. Beat, split 3/4. Pretty. Dynamic on that. Cat leap to side somi. Made that look simple. Gainer pike, stuck. Yes.

Chesley (UWL): Front double full to open. We love starting with an E pass. Ending with her connection pass. Switch half, popa, popa. Wasn’t in love with the straddle shape on those.

AFTER FIVE: UW-Whitewater 144.350, UW-La Crosse 143.700, UW-Eau Claire 140.950, Gustavus Adolphus 140.800, UW-Oshkosh 96.150, Winona State 94.150, UW-Stout 95.250, Hamline 93.100

Welp. UW-Whitewater hit beam. The ball is its court heading to floor in its final event…However, don’t count out Oshkosh because it has some high-flying, high-scoring floor and vault routines still left to perform as well. Gustavus put together a strong bar rotation of its own, full of hit routines with unique skill combinations. La Crosse kept things steady on floor, rounding it out with a big score from anchor Rachel Chesley.

Rotation 6: Winona State VT, Hamline UB, UW-Stout BB, UW-Oshkosh FX

Warm up: UW-La Crosse VT, UW-Eau Claire UB, Gustavus Adolphus BB, UW-Whitewater FX

Buffington (UWO): Front double full, put her hand down. Unfortunate. Switch half, wolf full. Stunning. Front lay, rudi. Also great. Starting with a fall is hard, but don’t expect it to get UWO too far down.

Scharfer (Stout): BHS LOSO. Adjusted well. Finished with a stuck 1.5 dismount.

Norton (Hamline): Swing half, overshoot. Swing half, swing half, double tuck.

Stoltz (WSU): FHS front tuck with a small step.

Cheely (Hamline): Blind, Jaeger. Nice and floaty. Overshoot. Blind full, double tuck. Great hit for her.

Lucero (UWO): A choreographer! Front lay, front full. Switch side half, straddle jump. Double tuck. Chest up. Great finish.

Kropiwiec (WSU): Huge Y tuck full. Just a hop back.

Gagner (Stout): BHS side aerial. A lean. Switch leap, straddle 1/4. Faked it around a touch. Beat jump. Switch leap… and she’s off. Switch leap to gainer pike connection. That third switch leap likely won’t count as a skill.

Cienkus (UWO): Front through to 2.5. Not a common connection, but she makes it look easy. Switch half, popa. Rudi to split jump. BEAUTIFULLLL.

Smiley (Hamline): Giant, overshoot. Loose on the catch. Clear hip, toe up to high. Had to take a pause. Toe on front tuck off.

Ratkowski (UWO): WHAT’S WRONG WITH BEING CONFIDENT. Front lay, Rudi. Chest up. Double tuck, chest low but managed.

McGibboney (UWO): Double pike, huge. Switch side half, straddle jump. Yes ma’am. Front lay, Rudi. Some leg crossing in the air, fine landing. 9.600

Smaby (Hamline): Not to be confused for her sister who competed earlier for Gustavus. Blind, staddle back. Clear hip. Toe up to high. Not enough turnover. Some extra swinging. A cast over. Commentator jinx. Casted over again. Toe front tuck is basically stuck.

AFTER SIX: UW-Oshkosh 144.55, UW-Whitewater 144.350, UW-La Crosse 143.700, UW-Eau Claire 140.950, Gustavus Adolphus 140.800, Winona State 141.700, UW-Stout 143.175, Hamline 137.425

This rotation featured both Stout and Oshkosh avoiding counting a fall with mistakes early in the lineup. Stout’s rotation was highlighted by a 9.775 from Effie Ferguson that catapulted her into the lead on the event with only two events to go.

Rotation 7: UW-La Crosse VT, UW-Eau Claire UB, Gustavus Adolphus BB, UW-Whitewater FX

Warm up: UW-Oshkosh VT, Winona State UB, Hamline BB, UW-Stout FX

Breitkreutz (Gustavus): Off on the side aerial to BHS connection. Front gainer full with a step forward to finish.

Kehr (UWL): y tuck full is so high. Great amplitude. Just a step back.

Pastore (UWL): Y layout half. A touch short with a step back. Not quite enough rotation. Perhaps a touch rushed on initiating the turn.

Daly (UWEC): Gienger to overshoot. Chest up on the dismount landing.

Wood (UWL): Y layout full. Great line in the air. Small hop back. 9.750

Einck (UWEC): Blind, Jaeger. Some foot form. Overshoot down to low. Blind full, double tuck. Just a pace forward.

Cash (Gustavus): one hand FHS, like it’s casual. Front full in the tucked position. A step forward.

Chesley (UWL): Y layout half, a little overcooked with some knee give and a medium step forward.

Bailey (UWW): Double pike to open. A touch short. Leap nearly rotated around. Back 1.5, front layout. A little over. Front tuck to a knee just for funsies. Double tuck. PULLED it around.

Ravara (UWEC): Blind full, Gienger, some loss of leg form. Extra swings, overshoot. Blind full, double tuck. Pretty low with a wild step forward to save it.

Lee (Gustavus): BHS LOSO. So pretty. A beam queen. Switch leap, split 3/4. Side aerial. Pause. Stuck back 1.5 dismount. Way to GOOOOOO.

Haberstock (UWW): Back 1.5 front layout. Good amplitude on the leap pass there. Double pike. Lovely and huge. Good control. Whitewater is building momentum like its trying to WIN THE DAY.

Jahnke (Gustavus): BHS LOSO. 3/4 jump with a slight check. Front toss, beat. Yes ma’am. Gainer pike, a step forward.

Dudziak (UWW): Double pike. A little overdone, but managed. Front full, front tuck. A little wonky on the punch, still rotating some. Leap pass nice and around. No credit issues there. Double tuck, chest considerably low. Way to go for the difficulty with the two double routine!

AFTER SEVEN: UW-Whitewater 192.275, UW-La Crosse 192.175, UW-Eau Claire 187.050, Gustavus Adolphus 186.300, UW-Oshkosh 144.55, Winona State 141.700, UW-Stout 143.175, Hamline 137.425

UWW squeaked ahead of UWL by just a tenth in that rotation, despite La Crosse putting on a clinic on vault amplitude. With that said, Whitewater is likely locked in with a nationals spot, but it’ll be up to Oshkosh’s vault performance to determine whether the Eagles get an automatic big or will have to rely on SAS to earn a nationals spot.

Rotation 8: UW-Oshkosh VT, Winona State UB, Hamline BB, UW-Stout FX

IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWNNNN!

Zoromski (UWO): Strong opening vault for Oshkosh with a step back. 9.550

Gagner (Stout): Fall on the back 1.5 front tuck. Mistimed the punch a bit. 8.700

Sampson (WSU): Straddle Jaeger. Lovely. overshoot. Great last HS. Toe front tuck. A step back.

Buffington (UWO): FHS Front pike with a medium step. 9.700

Qualich (Stout): Switch ring, tour jete full. Quick with it.

McConkay (UWO): Yurchenko tuck full, with a pace back. Flexed feet, otherwise good shaping in the air.

Lemon (Hamline): Gainer full is stuck to finish.

Lucero (UWO): Layout full is absolutely DRILLED!!!! Yes ma’am. IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE! 9.800

Ferguson (Stout): Double pike, step forward. Kicked out a touch early. Switch side, popa.

McGibboney (UWO): Hop back on the Y layout full today. Great pop off the table.

Raymond (Hamline): Side aerial is lovely. Back 1.5 to finish with a crossover step.

Stoltz (WSU): Swing half, Tkatchev. Pak salto didn’t quite rotate, so she had to lose her form. Double tuck is stuck to finish. 9.250

Cummins (Stout): Switch side, wolf full. Dynamic leaps there. Rudi to straddle jump. Managed well.

Weikel (Hamline): Cartwheel to get the side requirement. Strong leap connection. So solid. Front full in the tucked position. Just a hop.

Bateman (WSU): Blind, piked Jaeger, overshoot. Connection game strong. Double tuck, just a pace forward.

Morgan (Hamline): Front aerial. Sharp. Wolf full. I don’t think you understand how hard that is. BHS LOSO. Yes. A queen. She is killing it. Some loss of foot form on the straddle 1/4. Step back on the dismount.

Miley (WSU): Shaposh is missed today. Blind full, overshoot. Some loose back on the catch. Toe on front pike half with a step back.

Meilke (Stout): Double tuck. Overshot with a slide back to the lunge. Tour jete half, wolf 1.5. Nice and around. Amplitude goes crazy. Back tuck to the stomach. Back 1.5, front layout. Flashing the blue devils.

Final: UW-Oshkosh 192.875, UW-Whitewater 192.275, UW-La Crosse 192.175, UW-Stout 190.775, Winona State 188.125, UW-Eau Claire 187.050, Gustavus Adolphus 186.300, Hamline 183.350

Oshkosh is coming away with its fourth consecutive conference title tonight, while Whitewater narrowly outmatched La Crosse for the second automatic qualifying spot to NCGA nationals. The competitiveness of this meet was unmatched this year with each team elevating the level of its gymnastics, making upgrades and fighting for every last tenth. Stay tuned to see which teams will be meeting UWW and UWO at nationals from the east region and who will qualify from SAS. Based on La Crosse’s SAS of 192.725, we’re likely to still see the Eagles at NCGAs, but we shall see.

AA Winner: Emily Buffington (UW-Oshkosh), 38.400
