Judge’s Inquiry: Differentiating Vaults

This article is a continuation of our introduction to college gymnastics skills with this next segment dedicated to vault.

A vault can happen in the blink of an eye, and if you’re not paying close attention, it’s hard to tell the difference between one versus another. But to be fair, a lot of the vaults are the same, but for those that aren’t a Yurchenko full or a one and a half, I have this quick, 8-minute overview of the different “families” of vaults you’ll see, so you can differentiate them like a pro!
