There’s a lot that happens on the gymternet each week. So much so that it can be hard to keep track of it all. From training updates and COVID year announcements to recruiting rumors and coaching news, we don’t blame you for missing some important points here and there.

Top Storylines

SEMO Gymnastics Announces it is Fully Funded

The Redhawks reported that the team is officially a fully funded program, effective immediately. The last several seasons SEMO has been participating in the USAG championships which are for teams with fewer than eight full scholarships. This move marks the continued growth of gymnastics in Cape Girardeau. 

Other Newsworthy Items

  • Rising senior Jah’Liyah Bedminster announced that she’ll be transferring from LIU to Pittsburgh. Bedminster consistently competed on vault, bars and floor last season for the Sharks, scoring season highs of at least 9.800 on each of those events. 
  • Iowa awarded senior and former walk-on Aubrey Nick a scholarship for her final season with the team. 
  • Kyana George was named the coach’s assistant at TWU after spending last season as an assistant with Alabama. 
  • KJ Wheeler was named UW-Stout’s head coach. She has been an assistant coach on staff for the last four seasons. 

Training Updates

  • UCLA freshman Katelyn Rosen posted a training clip on beam working an Onodi back handspring layout step-out combination.
  • Utah State junior Danika Kirstine is training an Arabian double front on floor.
