UC Davis' John Lavallee

BREAKING: UC Davis Terminates Head Coach John Lavallee

UC Davis Athletics announced today that it had terminated head coach John Lavallee’s employment, effective immediately. Tanya Ho will serve as interim head coach for the 2023 season. Ho served as an assistant for the past two seasons and was previously head coach at Alaska.

Davis also announced it would begin a search for a new, permanent head coach in the coming months.

No reason was given for Lavallee’s termination, however the program under his leadership had faced previous allegations of racism. 2023 would have been his 15th season with the Aggies.

This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
