This year’s Nastia Liukin Cup Series will be comprised of 20 meets, each of which will qualify one senior gymnast (aged 16 or older) and one junior (15 or younger) to the 13th Nastia Liukin Cup in Frisco, Texas on Feb. 27.
This week’s series included one meet: the WOGA Classic.
Last week’s qualifiers were Kelsey Slade, KJ Keuneke, Faith Torrez, Lily Pederson (seniors); and Kennedy Cochran, CaMarah Williams, Simone Brown, Allison Cucci (juniors).
WOGA Classic
Winner (senior division): Mackenzie Estep
Winner (junior division): Brynn Torry
Three-time NLC qualifier Mackenzie Estep, in the class of 2025, edged a competitive field, finishing less than two tenths ahead of Kamila Pawlak and Jamison Sears, who both qualified to the Cup in previous weeks. Estep performed a big Yurchenko 1.5 on vault, a blind full to full-in dismount on bars and a double layout on floor. She already looks ready for college.
2021 Hopes Classic medalist Brynn Torry notched the junior qualification with a solid all around performance, which included a pretty Yurchenko full, a bar routine with clean line and an excellent beam routine, dismounted with a BHS to BH to double twist.
