The NCGA Dismount: Week 4

The Big Storyline: This was a nail biter! After a rough start on bars, Gustavus pulled it together and claimed its second win on the season. Gustie sophomore Annie Corbett dominated the competition claiming three event titles and the all-around title. For the Warriors, seniors Anna Hiller and Shelsea Zehr ended their careers on a high note with Hiller claiming the bar title and Zehr sharing a piece of the floor title.

The Big Storyline: Hamline had its second best performance of the year in its final competition. Madeline Sowinski had the Piper’s top performance of the evening and she claimed the floor title with a big 9.600. La Crosse didn’t have its most consistent meet of the year after starting with an uncharacteristically shaky bar rotation. But after struggling with putting together a solid floor lineup all season, the Eagles were able to put together their strongest floor rotation of the year.

The Big Storyline: Stout and Eau Claire both had one of their best outings of the year. For the Blugolds, freshman Tia Ravara continues to lead the team on her two standout events—bars and beam—but has also proved to be a major contributor all around. The Blue Devils also have a few freshmen who made impressive all around debuts this year, but this past weekend was Kiara Brown’s time to shine when she improved her all-around score by six tenths.

The Big Storyline: Whitewater and Oshkosh rounded out their brief seasons with strong showings this weekend, each totaling their second highest scores of the year. For the Warhawks, senior Blaise Wilson claimed her final career all-around title with a big 38.175—a season high. Titan freshman Emily Buffington continues to prove she is going to be a key part of this team for the next few years as she claimed her third bar title (out of only four meets) and was their top finisher on beam and in the all-around.
